Raglan Road

DW and I were dined at RR last August on the first night of a 10 night stay. Our first meal was at RR. We were both looking forward to eating there for the first time. Our experience was not good at all. The table we ate at was not leveled (no big deal, I took care of that problem). The waitress took our order served our drink, served our meal, and gave us our bill. She never came back to check and see if we needed anything else to eat drink etc...
Our meal was the major disappointment to both of us. DW, who eats a birds portion normally was still hungry after getting the fish and chips. The portion was one small (tasty) piece of fish and a few fries. We both had the same meal. Is this typical of their portions and service? We are planning to go back to WDW in early June, do we attempt to go back to RR. DW says no. I'm not opposed to giving a place a second chance.

Your experience was entirely the opposite of mine. My son and I love the place! We get stellar service every visit and good-sized portions [not as huge as other places, but certainly enough for us]. Our servers practically dote on us. The one time they didn't, the server was quite busy with a particularly demanding large table and was most apologetic, even gave us our desserts for free. Even then, she dropped by fairly often to check on us.

I'd vote for giving it another try. I absolutely love their Forest of Scallops appetizer! :slurp:

Got to agree with Monty. We've dined at Raglan Road at least once per trip since it opened. While a bit on the pricey side, the food and service has always been excellent :slurp:

I had terrible service there once, the restroom was filthy, plus my food wasn't very good, so I'll not be going back.

Crush Dude!

Back from WDW!Counting down to DLP in November!
Unfortunately i had the same experience on my last trip in July!!! It was our first time in there and after seeing the manu i had high hopes for it!! We were very disappointed, poor service, burger my dd got was brutal, my fish n chips paled in comparison to the rose and crown!!

Honestly i want to do it again cause i reckon some of the things still sound good but im very wary

Guess we'll scratch RR off of AUG trip. Thanks for the very surprising heads-up
By my count the reviews are 50-50... Hardly a "very surprising heads-up". Just means some folks have occasionally had less-than-stellar service/food. That happens at pretty much any restaurant.

As I said, I've never had a truly bad experience at Raglan Road and the vast majority of visits have been beyond excellent!

Been there twice and will definitely go back. Great food and good service both times. Only issue I had were the Pop Warner football players that were there. They were walk ups so the parents were all sitting at the bar behind our table getting totally plastered while they waited for their tables to be ready and the kids were who knows where. When the kids came to see the parents they were hanging over the back of the booth where I was sitting. I actually had to turn around and tell them to stop hanging over the booth. We always go over the first two weeks of December so we tend to hit the start of Pop Warner so for our next trip, Raglan Road will be our first night dinner, not mid trip, like it was this time.

I've eaten at Raglan Road more than a dozen times now, I've never had a bad meal. I love the Fada Burger- its one of the best anywhere in my opinion, very unique. The service in my experience is spotty- always friendly but inconsistent. Sometimes they run like clockwork and other times its very very slow. They seem to run their best when its busy rather than when there are few people there. I can forgive them slow service for the very tasty food.

I love Raglan Road! I have been there twice and the food and service has always been great. Their Fish & Chips are wonderful IMO. Sorry to hear about your bad experience though.

We made the mistake of going on a sunday night. The one night of the week there's no enterntainment.
So we kind of missed the real vibe of the place.
Liked the food though.

This has been my experience with the place as well. Love the food...I refer to RR as a dart board menu...but the service can be hit or miss. We have eaten there at least 10 times and on 2 occasions the service was lacking but the food was always great.

I have to say we had a great experience there with both service and food. Maybe just a bad night for you. Their, it's not bleeding chowder is so good... :slurp:

RR has been hit or miss for me, but DH thinks it's a must for the bread pudding. :slurp: Our last trip was a "bread pudding tour" (he's slightly obsessed) and RR's dessert won hand's down.

The service is so-so, but I guess that I think of it more as a bar or gastropub, so I expect different service than I would at other table service locations.

Been there 5-6 times since it opened, including this July.

Always excellent food and great service. Also, at price points a bit lower than Disney owned locales.

I've honestly never heard any bad experiences before reading this thread.

They had (not sure if menu has changed) a phenomenally tasty steak salad on the lunch menu last summer.

Thank you for all the comments, I'll try to talk DW into giving RR another try. We gave WP a second chance and I'm glad we did. Our first experience horrible, but we went last summer and it was very good, and the service excellent.

We ate there once, had very mediocre food and service (the waiter never even asked if we wanted dessert), and two of our party of four got food poisoning. We had to cut our trip short and leave early. Pretty sure their salad greens, which looked pathetic, were the culprit.

I've been a couple times and always good service and very good food. I think it just depends what you get and when. Every place will have those who love it and those who hate it. My family went to Le Cellier (I was sick at the time and was stuck in my room) and had horrible service and horrible food. It was their first time and we heard such good things about it. Needless to say they couldn't see how it got the reviews it did. I will try it the next time, hopefully, I'm there.
