how do you work your pages?

what i mean is...do you just do one trip and finish all of your pictures from the trip?

or do you jump around like i do? i do pages as the pictures and designs come to me. but in no order at all.

the last 2 pages i did was from a field trip over a year ago.

I do different things differently.

I do an album for each trip and I usually finish one trip before I start on another.

I do everyday pages chronologically.

Now all that goes out the window when I'm entering a contest or sending in pages to magazines in the hope of being published in a magazine. Then I go by design idea or great (in my opinion) picture. I've got several of these pages that I fill cheap albums with and add them into my real albums when I get to them chronologically or by trip.

I usually go chronologically. I do everything by month. I start each month with a calendar page where I have detailed everything we did that month. Then, I just start filling up the book and fit as many months as I can in an album- usually it's three or four months in an album, but sometimes it can be only 1 or 2, like Christmas or when we take a trip. I'm a very structured person and I can't handle skipping around. However, sometimes I will get bored with something I have a lot of, and will start something else before I have completely finished with my last month.

I'm definitely a person that goes by trip or chronologically. For years, the only thing I scrapbooked was our Disney vacations. Then I scrapbooked our wedding and honeymoon (to Disney and the Disney cruise, of course). Now, since our daughter was born I'm working on her scrapbooks too. So I'll do an entire trip at a time and now with my daughter I'm scrapbooking chronologically with one year per album. I'm hoping to finish 2006 before 2007 is over so I have a good excuse to take a break and go back to an old vacation instead. I know--I'm way to orderly! :)

i guess i am the odd ball here then! LOL

but maybe its because i am so, so far behind.

I think the way you're doing it is great! I took a class by Simple Scrapbooks (the magazine) and they were all about scrapbooking out of order. They encouraged us to scrapbook something when we were inspired by it.

It's also a little easier to do with digital scrapbooking. Then you dont' have to worry about how many pages are in your album, if you ended on a double layout or a single layout, etc.

The other part of the reason I go by topic is because I simply can't fit all my scrapbook supplies in my carrier at one time. So right now I have all my baby papers, embellishments, etc. out. Once I switch to doing Disney pages I then have to pull all that stuff out. Again, digital would make that part much easier.

I have done many chronological, but I have the most fun with the ABC albums.

Sorry I posted a few reply's and did not introduce myself. I am fairly new to the forum and love to scrap! I prefer hands on. Although I am getting into the digital. I have a four year old and she loves crafts...I dread pulling out all of my supplies and her kid in the candy store reaction. My supplies are hidden inder lock and key which makes it almost impossible to get an album started much less completed. It is definitely and addiction for me! I keep buying supplies and never find the me to use them.

Well, I am almost embarrassed to even post here. I have almost finished our last trip but I still have pictures from two prior trips to do. Maybe I should just shove them in a Disney photo album and forget it.:ROFLOL:

Don't do that! Think of all the fun you're going to have doing those pages! I wish I was behind in my trips! I don't have any disney pages to do right now. Besides, that will give you something to post when you finish them! :)

I use the creative memories version, Story Book Creator. It's free download from their website. It is pretty simple. I am a beginner in digital scrapbooking. I prefer the hands on, but time is an issue. I would love some insight on other programs perhaps ones that I can use for my Disney albums. Creative Memories has a lot of Disney products for hands on, but not quite the same variety in the digital. I guess the more popular it becomes....I really like the idea of having a real bound book I saw that Disney offered the service but the price seems outrageous! (I have not done my comparison shopping yet.)

I actually did the disney book. Yes, it did cost quite a bit, but it was just for really special pictures, I had traditionally scrapped all my trip pictures, so it was just more for an interesting coffee table book. I really love it! It turned out really cute! I should post some pictures of it.

Ok, here is some pictures of my photobook from disney. I didn't include all of the pages, since I'm sure you don't want to see my entire book, but I have quite a few because I want to show you how many choices you have. You could do the book in all one theme, or you can mix and match like I did. I loved them all, so I found it hard to choose!
