A sad reality too was that for a lot of the young guest, Push was more then a entertainer. It was to the younger audiences, a friend. It could actually talk, something few of the characters could do. You didn't have to wait in a line for him, you could hug him, and interact, and take pictures with him.
Now a dance party is supposed to replace that. Many senior citizens who enjoyed listening to Push's jokes can't get up and dance, and others just flat out don't like doing that in a theme park. The park should have parades, and maybe a dance party, but making WDW a giant dance party is a little depressing.
This was a bad day for Disney. Whether it was their fault, or the third party, Disney World was changed. And I think in a negative way.
The only negative thing I ever heard about PUSH, was people didn't know about it. That can be solved through commercials, advertisements, pictures, or merchandise, but over 19 years Disney ignored it and let the thing fend for himself (which to his credit he did). Disney's Best Kept Secret wasn't the Vacation Club, or Hidden Mickeys. It was PUSH
