That's true, but why announce he's not going anywhere?
We dont know who walked away.
It could have been Disney. It could have been the 3rd Party. We just don't know.
I never understood why Push was outsourced in the first place. Disney have plenty of voice talent they could use, and the technology is not an issue.
I'm sure the Bamboo test was some sort of contract negotiating leverageI wonder the same thing. It makes sense for some things, like DeVine, because Disney would have to pay a regular CM more with more breaks for performing like that, because of the Union. Push, though... I dunno. Maybe a puppeteering premium PLUS face character wages?
Like I said, I dunno.
Disney did not handle this arrangement well at all...
They never once made an official statement that Push was even leaving at all. Some guest may have wanted to see him before he left, had they known that....
Then a rumor gets started that he is. No one knows if the rumor is true or not....(Maybe it's manufactured by the blogs and news companies, Maybe not. After all there were Tomorrowland employees behind the scenes rumored to be discussing his removal?)
Then a spokesman for Disney reports there is "nothing to" rumors of Push's departure, and that "Push isn't going anywhere"
Two days later, Push is retired???
Wha??
The Ziti Sisters, who it is known sadly are leaving Epcot, had their departure reported ahead of time so that people could go visit one last time, or visit for the first time just to experience them. Push who had been there for 19 years did not merit the same announcement?
Translation - Rich atmosphere - underpaid talent jumps around in foam suits; often with overly loud music and flashing lights; rubes easily confuse it with entertainment and open their wallets wideAnd did I read that right about the rich atmosphere of a new dance party!? Those dance parties are TERRIBLE!
The 'new INCREDIBLES Super Dance Party at Rockettower Plaza Stage' is neither rich, nor entertainment."Operations:
We will no longer have a talking trashcan performing act at Walt Disney World Resort effective Sunday, February 9. We will continue to offer a rich mix of atmosphere entertainment for our guests, including the new #INCREDIBLESSuperDanceParty at Rockettower Plaza Stage."
The intellectual property rights could be an issue. They'd have had to buy the rights from the company for PUSH.I never understood why Push was outsourced in the first place. Disney have plenty of voice talent they could use, and the technology is not an issue.

You're assuming Push was cut. He could have chose to roll off into the sunset of his own accord.
For something that was operated within a Disney Park? I can't imagine they would ever allow that to happen. The intellectual property rights could be an issue. They'd have had to buy the rights from the company for PUSH.
True, I have 0 knowledge of what happened behind the scenes. Maybe Disney did offer a contract to the 3rd Party. Maybe he got cut. Maybe the 3rd Party wanted to retire, or maybe they weren't given enough compensation. I don't know, but I would think they could have handled the arrangement better. In all honesty I don't like the message from Disney and 3 days later hearing opposite. I don't really care as much as to who is to blame as much as the loss for Push. He was a GREAT attraction. One that many have posted on facebook and twitter was their favorite memory. If the 3rd Party walked away, Disney should have offered more (assuming Money is the issue, which it may not be).
The only official statement from Disney at all regarding Push within the last year that I'm aware of was the Disney spokesman in the Orlando Sentinel. Based on that report, Disney was either blindsided by this, overconfident about it, dishonest, or ignorant. Heck I would have had a weekly blog of Push visiting various places in Disney World, and interacting with things. Push riding the monorail, etc.
I would have made far more merchandise with Push, especially to the extent that kids and adults cherish him. The fact a pin hasn't been made is criminal, with all the various other pins that are made. I'd offer the 3rd party a bit of the profits from the merchandise even. I don't know what percentage, a low one, but it would help pay for the act, and also make the handlers that much more invested in entertaining the people, which is what they were doing spectacularly. The fact an iphone case of Push sold out, should have been a huge neon light around this unexplored avenue of merchandise. I know personally I would have bought some.
PUSH also operated at times in DL & DLP so they may well own the ipFor something that was operated within a Disney Park? I can't imagine they would ever allow that to happen.
You are really good at pretending like you know what happens behind the scenes. Probably the best on the forum. Let me know when you get that boardroom seat.
Here by the way, was the article from the Orlando Sentinel regarding PUSH
http://articles.orlandosentinel.com...1_talking-trash-disney-officials-tomorrowland
I'm not by any means the greatest person when it comes to public speaking, but the statement in the article...
"Disney officials say that PUSH will continue to entertain guests at Magic Kingdom. "
and then 2 days later he ends his 19 year career is not one I would have made, unless a contract had been signed.
