PUSH the Talking Trashcan's last day?

what baffled me is how fast they just trashed it.
like "lol its done, its irrecoverable now, tough luck fans!"
Sadly, that is typical of the way TDO works... And kind of come to expect now... Trash (pun intended) PUSH quickly, build a kiddie coaster sloooooooooooooooooooooooooooooowly.... They are fast to cut and remove, slow to add... and people wonder why we are frustrated at Disney/TDO...

Ho. Ly. Crap.
I am ashamed in my lack of knowledge, but Disney should feel worse that such a price (it doesn't look cheap) was spent on something that so few of US even knew existed!
So... what did it do? It didn't JUST roll around, did it?
I'm not really sure-sorry to say.

Also got me thinking about GERO & the scary robot from the EPCOT Danny Kaye special.

clever.. very clever...
now, stop.. delete your post and never come back.. because they might hear you and actually use SCROOGE MCDUCK to do that "the disney way".

almost feels like they were just trying to curb the rumours to prevent the spread of the whole "more entertainment is leaving WDW". aka a 100% pure PR movement to prevent things from going full viral.

so its one of these options?

a) Disney wanted to cut Push's hours (to save wages)
b) Disney did not want to renegotiate a better package for the owners of Push despite 19 years of entertainment.
c) Push's side wanted a very steep money increase.
d) Disney wanted more control (or the inverse) on what happens with Push.

Imho, I still say they only tried PR control to prevent the haemorrhaging of entertainment from becoming VIRAL (and thus hide Guests from a dissatisfaction )

I was actually talking about how fast things moved.. from "he might be leaving" then to "he is staying" then instantly "he is gone, to never be seen.. the unit was also trashed, destroyed and removed" and then spitting on the fan's face with the "too late whoops!" lol.

you know.. in second thoughts.. its not funny.

Yeah, I'm confused as hell at this point. I feel bad for Banks for being in the middle of this.

No worries.

All I know is that if people are getting insanely mean over this, they need to take a step back. Change happens.

Entertainment choices change. You might not like it, but you can't please everyone.

What really annoys me is the that Disney's right hand doesn't seem to know what it's left
hand is doing or they just lied about it. Either way it doesn't bode well.

Sitting on bench next to Pirates just now. My 4 year old says "remember the magical talking trash can we saw? He was so funny"
All joking and griping aside, a moment like this is what a place like Disney ultimately means to us and why it is/has been so important in our lives. Growing up in the Midwest, Disneyland and later WDW might as well have been a million miles away. Yet their image and their ability to tug at my inner being meant everything to me. As I entered adulthood and started a family, it became an experience to share with my children. We still share many. many wonderful memories of our times there.

PUSH was a simple, upbeat attraction with a kindhearted voice and and act consisting of simple, inoffensive things. It's the sort of thing we all value deep down inside, and it's the type of experience our kids fundamentally appreciate. In many ways their inner simplicity lets them see things we can't, and value tiny moments that last forever in their hearts.

PUSH leaving is symbolic of the lack of heart in the way the corporation is developing, and that saddens us all. We are no longer visitors being entertained - we are simply pockets being emptied. And that leaves us all diminished by the decline of a special place that once meant so much to us.

I recall when they got rid of PIPA and then WesPalm at the AK. And I'm sure some of you remember when they got rid of the Living Statues in the WS. Entertainment changes. They had the Living Statues at PI for awhile as well. In short, I think you're right Dave and there's no reason to get upset over this change. They may decide to bring PUSH back in the future or they may improve PUSH. They may give him more range so his controller doesn't have to be onsite and they may make him smell like a real trash can. Or perhaps they'll change the routine so that a homeless friend will open up PUSH's top every so often looking for aluminum cans.
