I realized the data between LA and OC was off, because LA County was reporting Zero (0) cases for December 3rd at the time I created the screenshot from their health department dashboard. That supressed numbers for LA County for the 14 day rolling average case rate for them.

It's actually a larger disparity in case rates between the two neighbor counties with very different Covid strategies:

Corrected Data as of December 3rd:

Orange County = 107 Cases Per 100,000 Residents
LA County = 151 Cases Per 100,000 Residents

Here's that LA County data screenshot that now matches the data run of Orange County thru December 3rd.

So....

Can someone enlighten me on what the current entry requirements are for a out-of-Stater to enter Disneyland Park?
I'm aware of the reservation system...but I'm more looking for insight into the current status of entry for non- Vax'ed out of State visitors.

Thanks in advance.

In the Parks
No
Is that a requirement now?
No. The information pops up right on the Disneyland homepage:
  • The State of California strongly recommends that all Guests be fully vaccinated or receive a negative COVID-19 test prior to entering the Disneyland Resort. Face coverings are required for all Guests (ages 2 and up) while indoors, including on many attractions and in enclosed transportation vehicles, regardless of vaccination status. Face coverings remain optional for all Guests in outdoor common areas.
Edit:
There is no checking for vax status at the gates. They are using the honor system. However, they will enforce the mask rules.

Disneyland has no entry requirements for out-of-Staters, aside from having a valid park reservation for the day you are going.

Just like the rest of Orange County, Disneyland has no vaccination requirements of anyone to use any business, or engage in any public commerce or accomodation. In Orange County no one will ask, and no one will check.

The only requirement Disneyland currently has is that you wear a mask indoors. But outdoors you can go unmasked.

Orange County has no mask mandate, and I haven't seen a store or restaurant in Orange County besides Disneyland that requires you to wear a mask indoors. Disneyland is the last of the Mohicans in OC on the indoor mask mandate. A growing number of restaurants and stores in OC no longer require their employees to wear masks, much less their customers. It's perfectly socially acceptable to go into any store or restaurant in OC without a mask.

Go 10 miles north however, and it's a completely different world. LA County has mandatory countywide mask mandates, and mandatory vaccine mandates. To get into a restaurant or buy something at a store in LA, you have to show proof of vaccination. If you are flying in/out of Long Beach or LAX instead of John Wayne, you'll want to be aware of that MAJOR difference in culture and mandates between the two counties.

In other words if you are walking into the Blue Bayou or in a Doom Buggy with a member of your family you need to be masked but outdoors crammed in the Peter Pan queue you are completely safe. Lol

That's how it was for the entirety of Disney World. As though Covid only exists in enclosed spaces. Mind you, the indoor rules also stop applying if you're eating, since we also know that Covid passes over someone just enjoying their meal.

There were plenty of people still wearing masks outdoors too, though. And honestly, when people walk through large crowds and just openly cough without covering their mouths, sometimes having that mask handy wasn't such a bad thing.

I went to Gelson's down in Irvine this evening to pick up a to-go Hanukah dinner from their deli to celebrate the 8th night of Hanukah (it's a silly thing I do as an old WASP who has had a few wonderful Jewish friends in my life).

Add Gelson's Supermarket to the list of employers in OC that don't require employees to wear masks; managers, the florist, the butcher, plus my checkout gal and the bagboy all were maskless at Gelson's tonight.

It does make you wonder how much longer Disneyland sticks with it's masking policy? There is no legal requirement for masks on either employees or customers in Orange County.

P.S. The checkout gal wished me a (vaguely suspicious as she eyed my very Gentile appearance) "Happy Hankukah!" as she rang up my deli loot and bottle of Manischewitz. I explained I'm not really Jewish, I just like to pretend I am this time of year to remember a few great friends, and she laughed hysterically and gave me an extra 10% Hanukah discount because she thinks my friends would want me to have the discount! Always be kind to your supermarket checkers! 🤣

Oh for sure. Their aren’t many times in a given day at Disneyland where I will voluntarily put on a mask but I am glad I have one readily available when someone in front of me coughs or in those extremely tight Fantasyland queues. Not glad enough to bring one to the park when the requirements are gone though.

I'm about to head out of state for a happy Christmas family vacation, so let's update this thread now that the notably mild Omicron variant is here and some folks are entering a "Winter of Death".

Orange County continues to have higher testing rates, notably lower case rates, higher vaccination rates, and very modest hospitilaztion rates compared to adjacent (and massive) LA County. A reminder, LA County has had mandatory mask mandates and mandatory vaccination mandates for over a month now. Orange County continues to be "hands off" and mandate-free, and today's errands showed me plenty of folks (including some employees) not obeying the statewide mask suggestion that returned a few days ago. Naughty, naughty OC!

Here's the misinformation hard facts and data from the California Department of Public Health behind the current situation in SoCal, as of December 16th...

Orange County = 158 Cases Per 100,000 - 66.8% Fully Vaccinated
LA County = 223 Cases Per 100,000 - 66.4% Fully Vaccinated

Incredibly mild would be more accurate a statement.

I mean we may as well just start talking about every strain of every virus at this point. Cmon y’all, let’s go get our 47 vaccinations every fall. They could just jab us at work every morning on the way in before coffee. Or maybe even not allow people who didn’t get their daily jab access to coffee.

Wake up people. I feel an awakening coming though. People are starting to say they ve had enough. I work in a very liberal industry in a very liberal town and sometimes would shy away from sharing my opinions or even liking certain things on social media. Not any more. Why can they be loud and we have to be quiet?

Some light reading for you from today's news. If you want to remain in constant fear with the TV media, be my guest. But I've got a life to live and a Christmas vacation to get to. 🎅

Sure, it could be, but the consensus is still out Which is why "it is notably milder" is a premature statement.

CDC says "mild so far" https://www.theguardian.com/world/2021/dec/09/cdc-chief-omicron-mild-early-data-us-spread-variant

No evidence milder from the UK: https://www.aljazeera.com/news/2021...ron-milder-than-delta-british-researchers-say

not necessarily milder from the WHO https://www.medpagetoday.com/infectiousdisease/covid19/96078
