Monday April 7th, 2008 Part 1
I woke up at 6 on Monday to shower, eat breakfast, and prepare for my first day in the parks. Like the little HSM fan that I am, I wore my East High Wildcats shirt that I had brought with me. Sure I looked like a ten year old, but I was having fun. Our plan was to do two parks each day. We only had two park days, and two fun day tickets left. MGM The Hollywood Studios/Magic Kingdom was up first.
I had tried to get everyone up early enough so we would be at the Studios when the park opened. As usual, something went wrong with my plan. Mom and Dad had to stop and get money so we were twenty minutes late (that would be twenty minutes after the park opening). The hotel said we could cash a check in the lobby, but there was miscommunication. It was crazy.
When we finally did make it to the Studios my brother (he is 13) and I ran to ride the Twilight Zone’s Tower of Terror. I had ridden the ToT once before, but this was his first time riding. While we waited in line, Mom and Dad went to get us Fast passes for Rockin’ Roller Coaster. While in line for ToT we were in front of these two rude girls. The girls were Florida natives, but had never been to WDW before. They were about 16 or 17 and were obviously not big Disney Fans. I was taking pictures of everything in the queue, of my brother and myself, and of the ToT lobby. The girls kept saying “Oh my gosh, If she takes one more picture!” I was so close to turning around and snapping a picture of them. I, however, was more mature then they were. I simply continued to mind my own business, and snapped even more pictures of the scenery.
Luckily, the two girls were in another elevator so my brother and I were rid of them. My brother and I did meet a very nice couple from Georgia. The wife had been on ToT before, but her husband hadn’t. She has such a lovely accent. J My brother and I boarded the ride with our new friends from Georgia. We were seated in the back row. My brother wasn’t the least bit scared. The ride was as exciting as ever and I had fun hamming it up for the camera.
After ToT we met our parents by Rockin’ Rollercoaster. Neither my mom nor dad wanted to ride it, so once again my brother and I ventured off by ourselves to ride it. We had Fast passes so we managed to avoid the 50 minute queue. The funniest thing was that when we took our spot in the Fastpass line, the two rude girls from ToT joined the back of the regular line. My brother waved crazily to them, and I smiled. The two girls just rolled their eyes at us. We went on the ride two times in a row, and the two girls were still in line.
Then we met up with our parents. We decided we wanted to go see the Beauty and the Beast show. So we went and watched it. I thought it was brilliant! I wish I could have seen it on Broadway. Even my dad enjoyed it. After B&B we went to watch the HSM School's Out Parade. I was so excited to see the parade. I am a big fan of the HSM movies, and I love the songs. So we all went to see the parade. Of course I sat up front, with all of the 7 year old little girls. I was singing along with the little kids. I was having a blast. Then, when they called for everyone to get up and dance, all of the little girls and boys ran up to dance. I looked back at my family and they nodded. I ran out with all of the kids and danced. It was so much fun!
Part 2 of The Studios/MK coming soon. Keep tuning in.
