Princessathearts Very First Trip Report (5th Trip)

Hello everybody, I'm Princessatheart but you may call me Princess. I recently went to WDW over Spring Break. My family and I went from April 4th - April 11th.
I can honestly say that my trip was the best week of my life. I love Walt Disney World, and spending time with my family.
So, in this thread I will attempt to share my magical journey to my favorite place in the world. It may be a few days until I can upload pictures because my dad has yet to take them off of my memory card. Without further adieu, I present "Princessatheart's Disney Adventure!".

Mom came out to school to pick my brother and I up. We left school around noon and headed home. Dad had already arrived home from work, and was finishing packing. Mom and I cleaned the kitchen while Dad packed last minute stuff and my brother goofed off. We packed some sandwiches, my bro grabbed his laptop, and we were out the door.

We left the house at about one o’clock. After driving about half an hour I started to think. I was worried that I had forgotten something. I had my cell, ipod, laptop, Mickey ears, clothes, makeup… TICKETS! I didn’t remember Mom mentioning tickets. I told myself she had packed them, and I shouldn’t worry. Then I was worried that if we hadn’t packed them, it was already too late to turn around and get them. I was really afraid that if I asked they were going to yell at me! But not going to Disney World was not an option, so I went out on a limb.

“Umm… This may be an obvious question,” I asked, “But do we have the Disney tickets?”

Dad looked at Mom, Mom looked at Dad.
“I don’t have them.” Dad replied.

“I forgot!” Mom confessed, “I thought about them last night, but I was too lazy to get up and write myself a note to remember.”

So Dad turned the car around so we could go back and get the tickets. We went back home, got the tickets, and headed out (for real this time). Basically we wasted an hour, but whatever we kept driving. We stopped at a Burger King for lunch and Mc Donald’s for dinner. I got a Jasmine headband at Mc Donald’s. After driving through Indiana, Kentucky, and Tennessee we finally got to Alabama. At around ten we checked into the hotel.

(Sorry that this isn't very interesting, I want to wait for pictures before I start the real WDW part of the trip).

Will do. :) Thanks for the input.

Why  Were you expecting visitors while you were away :ROFLOL:

Cant wait to read the rest

 Not sure, my mom likes to house to be clean whenever we leave. Maybe if someone breaks in, they will see that everything is nice and orderly and will feel bad then leave. (That was a huge run on sentence... ha)

I have pictures now! :) I'm babysitting tonight, so I will try and type up the more of the report and post it later on this evening. :D Thanks for reading.

I'm a mom and a 'leave the house totally clean' kinda girl. It's not so that it's clean while I'm gone. I like to come home to a clean house. It's sorta like walking into a clean room at your WDW resort... :)

I'm enjoying this read. Fun start. Looking forward to the rest!

Me too. I hate coming home to an untidy house. It's bad enough having to do all the unpacking and washing!

Have to agree that coming home to a clean house is key. That way, you're still on vacation until you have to do the laundry

Nice start, Princessatheart. Looking forward to more!

I forgot our tickets once. I had already driven about 80 miles when I realized it. Fortunately my brother met me with them so I only had to backtrack about 40 miles.
We were almost 2 hours late meeting up with another brother because of it. But he spent his morning at Shoney's breakfast buffet waiting for us. Boy, did he get his moneys worth that day.

My girls always make fun of me for wanting the house cleaned before we leave. Someday they'll understand too.

Saturday April 6th, 2008
We woke up at our Alabama hotel around 5 and hit the road around 6. I was very tired; I did not want to wake up at 5 on a Saturday. I decided to go back to sleep in the van while Mom and Dad took turns driving. After what seemed like an eternity we finally made it to Orlando! I was so excited. There were signs towards Disney World and Disney billboards everywhere.
We stayed at Horizons by Marriott. It is a vacation club/ timeshare thing. I am not sure how it works, but basically we own a little condo-like place that we can use once a year. The hotel was so nice. The condo (it was more like an apartment, but I always call it a condo) had a kitchen, two bedrooms, a living room, a dining room, and a screened in porch. There were also three TVs, a washer/dryer, and an ORANGE JUICER! I was amazed by the orange juicer (see picture), but we never even used it. Needless to say I was a bit saddened from the lack of fresh squeezed citrus.
I got to share a room with my brother, but we each had our own queen sized beds! I have a twin at home, so I was very excited. Our room had its own bathroom, TV, and a closet. I hogged the closet but my brother did not seem to mind. J
The first thing I did we got our room was take pictures of everything, and then I check out the TV. There were TWO Disney Channels! I was seriously in heaven. My dad was laughing at me for getting excited about an extra Disney Channel, but I didn’t care. We all headed to bed fairly early.

Sunday April 6th, 2008

I had thought that we would go to Downtown Disney on Sunday. I was mistaken. Instead, we woke up just in time for a quick breakfast then we went grocery shopping. We went to a Wal-Mart not far from the resort. It was one of the coolest Wal-Mart’s I had ever seen. There was so much Disney stuff there! Our Wal-Mart only has HSM/Hannah Montana stuff for little kids. This one had everything Disney! There were Disney hats, key chains, adult shirts, and even rain ponchos. I bought a Hannah Montana shirtJ. After shopping for the groceries we headed back to the condo for lunch.
During lunch I kept asking if we could go to Downtown Disney for the evening. Sadly, my parents said no. So instead we went out shopping. We went to a mall and a smaller strip mall. I got a new pair of shorts and a tank dress. Then we went to a few thrift shops. At one of them, I got an amazing vintage EPCOT sweatshirt. It was only $1.25! I thought it was the coolest thing ever!
After finding my new favorite sweatshirt we piled back into the van to head to the condo for the night. I watched Charlie and the Chocolate factory on ABC Family before heading to bed. I was so excited that we were going to the Studios and Magic Kingdom that I could hardly fall asleep.

Monday April 7th, 2008 Part 1

I woke up at 6 on Monday to shower, eat breakfast, and prepare for my first day in the parks. Like the little HSM fan that I am, I wore my East High Wildcats shirt that I had brought with me. Sure I looked like a ten year old, but I was having fun. Our plan was to do two parks each day. We only had two park days, and two fun day tickets left. MGM The Hollywood Studios/Magic Kingdom was up first.
I had tried to get everyone up early enough so we would be at the Studios when the park opened. As usual, something went wrong with my plan. Mom and Dad had to stop and get money so we were twenty minutes late (that would be twenty minutes after the park opening). The hotel said we could cash a check in the lobby, but there was miscommunication. It was crazy.
When we finally did make it to the Studios my brother (he is 13) and I ran to ride the Twilight Zone’s Tower of Terror. I had ridden the ToT once before, but this was his first time riding. While we waited in line, Mom and Dad went to get us Fast passes for Rockin’ Roller Coaster. While in line for ToT we were in front of these two rude girls. The girls were Florida natives, but had never been to WDW before. They were about 16 or 17 and were obviously not big Disney Fans. I was taking pictures of everything in the queue, of my brother and myself, and of the ToT lobby. The girls kept saying “Oh my gosh, If she takes one more picture!” I was so close to turning around and snapping a picture of them. I, however, was more mature then they were. I simply continued to mind my own business, and snapped even more pictures of the scenery.
Luckily, the two girls were in another elevator so my brother and I were rid of them. My brother and I did meet a very nice couple from Georgia. The wife had been on ToT before, but her husband hadn’t. She has such a lovely accent. J My brother and I boarded the ride with our new friends from Georgia. We were seated in the back row. My brother wasn’t the least bit scared. The ride was as exciting as ever and I had fun hamming it up for the camera.
After ToT we met our parents by Rockin’ Rollercoaster. Neither my mom nor dad wanted to ride it, so once again my brother and I ventured off by ourselves to ride it. We had Fast passes so we managed to avoid the 50 minute queue. The funniest thing was that when we took our spot in the Fastpass line, the two rude girls from ToT joined the back of the regular line. My brother waved crazily to them, and I smiled. The two girls just rolled their eyes at us. We went on the ride two times in a row, and the two girls were still in line.
Then we met up with our parents. We decided we wanted to go see the Beauty and the Beast show. So we went and watched it. I thought it was brilliant! I wish I could have seen it on Broadway. Even my dad enjoyed it. After B&B we went to watch the HSM School's Out Parade. I was so excited to see the parade. I am a big fan of the HSM movies, and I love the songs. So we all went to see the parade. Of course I sat up front, with all of the 7 year old little girls. I was singing along with the little kids. I was having a blast. Then, when they called for everyone to get up and dance, all of the little girls and boys ran up to dance. I looked back at my family and they nodded. I ran out with all of the kids and danced. It was so much fun! :D

Part 2 of The Studios/MK coming soon. Keep tuning in.
