Princess themed rooms coming to Port Orleans Resort

Well look at what they are doing for AA, it makes sense. They did not just make pixar rooms or disney renaissance rooms but buildings and rooms that are themed true to their source material.

I would be interested in staying in a resort that has a princess theme because I have a DD, but I am not going to stay at a sub standard themed hotel just because it is disney princesses.

Fair enough. But there are others who won't mind that Tiana invited her friends over.

I haven't see these posted, but the original images that were in the survey are not the same that were posted on the blogs. The bedding and table/dresser is different with lack of a canopy and blue top to the table. As well as a lack of other princess memorabilia. Looks like now they just have pictures up of the princesses. Just thought I'd mention it.

I rather like that one better. The random nick-knacks in the other one just seem, well, random. And I think the Magic Carpet... Carpet is super cute. :) And I like the slight Tiana theme. I'd gladly pay for a room that was entirely PatF-themed...

Hopefully they will consider a PatF overlay to one of the pool areas. Perhaps a Mama Odie 'boat tree' pool slide. With fiber optic effects in the tree and other features from the movie. :)

So is this what they are going to build? This looks more restrained atleast.

They could do so much at Port Orleans, and I'm surprised they haven't. All they've done is added potato-head Tiana graffiti into the Floatworks:

I'm holding out for a Tiana's Palace restaurant. It just seems obvious!

I am actually quite taken with the look of the rooms. I cant see that we would pay the extra to stay in them right enough, but as a Riverside regular I am quite impressed with them, (whilst they don't quite fit in with the rest of the resort / outside of the buildings theming wise). They must expect them to do well when they are to take up one quarter of the resort.

Sadly, the first batch of concept are looked much better that what we are now getting. It looks like a lot of that detail was totally cut. Sad day.

And R.I.P. Mansion themed rooms. I would have loved to have stayed there.

I heard these princess rooms were coming at least 3 months ago. A friend of mine's mother works in housekeeping at the POR resort and she said that it was happening. I just didn't say anything because there had been zero buzz about it and let's face it, the info came from a housekeeper. lol

I do wish they had just made some strictly Tiana themed rooms at POFQ instead of the more generic princess experience that they went with. Being that our little one is totally in love with all things Tiana, I would have a much easier time talking my partner into an onsite stay there next year if it was there were rooms that were all about Tiana. I am sure that we will book one of these rooms anyway, but still.....

Yep, Tiana's restaurant I guess you mean, but the movie is perfect as a theme for a pool area too.

Yeah, a Tiana's restaurant. The Dream got a Ratatouille themed restaurant, PO should get a Tiana's. It makes sense, but then again logic sometimes stumps tdo.

This fits in perfect with the FQ.

The pool area could have the swamp theme with a momma's house added as a snack bar/CS.

The newer is as good or better IMO. The roof moldings look nice though in the older version.

Thanks for the info.

Well, they cut some costs with that.

I don't like the random accessories that really did not tie anything together, and lamps as faucets? :ROFLOL:

I wish that retrofits like these will actually lead to newer themed resorts. The pirates suites lead to a strictly pirates/ potc themed hotel. These suites lead to a medieval themed resort.

Well the beds are bigger and newer.

I love the idea of the Pirates- and Princess-themed rooms! How cute! I really wish the Haunted Mansion ones would work out, too... Those are all awesome ideas, and I think a lot of guests would pay the big bucks to stay in rooms like those.
