Princess Fairytale Hall - when is it supposed to open?

This whole project is so...Meh. I just cant get excited about losing an attraction to put in yet another crappy meet and greet. I am sure this is just the beginning of things to come... So while you all get excited about it remember that you may be excitedly waiting for the Splash Mountain pals meet and greet after they close that attraction one day....lol

Splash Mountain? I doubt it. I hated to see this ride go, I hate to see any ride go really, but let's be honest -- aside from my son and a handful of other random people, the public as a whole did not have a lot of emotional attachment to SWSA. It was no Mr. Toad's Wild Ride, that's for sure.

Of course that is not meant literally, but I think there were alot more people that liked that ride than a handful... In Disneyland Paris they have an extended outdoor queue, and even on a rainy early spring day when Space Mountain was a walk-on, there was a 50 minute line for Snow White... My point was, as long as there are people excited about the lowest brow entertainment, i don't believe that Disney will continue to invest in new attractions...So the happier people are with a meet and greet, the less likely we will be seeing quality attractions.

From what I can see of the new artwork, we aren't looking at "highly themed" here... It will be a bunch of backdrops in a space with all the charm of a Hotel banquet hall... I will admit that Enchanted tales With Belle was very well done, I have lower expectations for this one... And in the end, we lose another dark ride that could be enjoyed by all ages, for a Meet and Greet that will only appeal to young girls...

I too would have preferred a ride here, be it something new, or a revamped SWSA.
The could have gussied up the town hall, and kept a much needed people-eater in the busiest part of the park.

Never cared much for the Snow White ride. Mr Toad's was more of a loss IMO. At least the dwarf train will continue Snow's story / replace the ride. Same can't be said for poor Mr. Toad :(

Or just better organized New Fantasyland to include the meet and greet without ripping out the attraction.

Exactly, its prime dark ride real estate that should have stayed as such.....they could have created a whole new meetngreet area where the tangled restrooms are. TDO/Imagineering politics, ick.

A princess m&g wouldn't have made sense there. It needs to be inside the castle walls. I would also imagine this will be far more popular than SWSA ever was. Disney is just giving people what they want.

I am a Disney fan, own all kinds of behind the scenes books, frequent this (and other sites) dozens of times/day, travel to WDW for 10 days almost every year, know the parks like the back of my hand, and even I barely know the significance of "inside the castle walls" or exactly what real estate that encompasses.
Do you truly think the "average" guest cares if the Princesses are at the front of the park, in Old Fantasyland, or nestled somewhere in New Fantasyland?

The Castle Walls are one of the worst ideas. It's just a big open dead space. No fountains or flowers or even places to sit down. It's just dead space.

Something you never see in DL or DLP. The walls themselves are fine, but that empty dead space with the same red pavement is just sad. Like Tomorrowland '94, the renovation abruptly ends and we're supposed to just accept that some areas are more dated than others.

The land as a whole. When walking from Cinderella's main courtyard towards New Fantasyland, it's amazing to see Beast's Castle revealed between the castle wall turrets. I like the open space in front of them. Spring break was absolutely insane at park opening. It was nice to not get trampled.

I think the walls are nice enough looking. But I agree with the other poster's comment that there is too much dead space in front of them. A planter or two, god forbid a tree or a bench would add something to the area.

There is seating around most of the castle walls, they were incorporated into the design.
If I am not mistaken there is also shrubbery and plants as well.

When the mine train is completed im sure the effect will work better but it looks like you are leaving the castle courtyard and entering the enchanted forest as they call it.

there are benches right in front of the walls, its a great spot to sit and watch wishes at night.
