I must make a confession here. I've ridden triceratops spin not once, but 3 times with my 8 year old! :o (it wasn't crowded that day) Also, he looked over and saw PW, and can't wait for it to open! A lot of you might think dinorama is tacky, unimaginative, and boring, but to an 8 year old it's heaven! As others have said, it's easy to skip the whole area, but kids seem to like it.

I like my house to be attractive and comfortable. Sometimes I have the money for a major renovation, sometimes I can only paint and put up new curtains. I think Disney (and many other corporations) have had to scale back for a while. It might take a while, but I think more e-rides will be added. In the meantime, some of us will be happy with just a "new coat of paint." ;)

Sorry NowInc.

I'm hate to admit....... but...

I am one of those imagineers working for the Walt Disney Company...

I'm dutch, and usually I live in orlando, the rest of my family
still live in the Netherlands, which i'm visiting at this moment.

And the reason I'm reading this news bulletins at this moment
is I'm still a bit busy at Walt Disney Resort Paris, and the job is done!

They've send me overhere because I'm dutch and my french is quite good. and above all... Mike will send you anywhere he likes.

Late next month moving back to Orlando. :sohappy:

Corrus --

If you're serious about being an Imagineer currently working at DL Paris, PLEASE start a new thread and let us know the best things to see and do at the parks. We'll be there for four days in early June (I wish Mike was paying!) and I can't wait! THANKS!

Do You mean What part of the Resort
or What part IN The Studios..
In the BackLot (2 attractions)

There was still some theming of R&RC to do

And quite a lot work at the Stunt Show spectacular
but the french have a different mentallity about
working through the day...

And we made The Entrance (waiting line) of
Armageddon Special Effects a whole lot different
from the one we had at MGM (Sorry, Disney Studios) in
orlando.
Don't get me wrong, I don't actually use tools (ie. a hammer)...
I do some designing and supervising.

But as always.. everything goes wrong in the end..
But we made it...
Everything works (till now :animwink: )
But you never know... (see what happened to Test Track :o )
Most of the builders, painters went home.
Just a few are still there... about 200 people..
And most of them too will leave next week.
The maintenance crew takes over..
And NOW!! What do these attractions look like??

Sorry!!! :( Until the Grand Opening on March 16th, 2002
I'm bound to the Non-Disclosure Aggreement I signed.

Perhaps you should read your contract a bit closer than...

IF you are an imagineer..you are putting your job at great risk by not only posting on a disney forum, but openly admitting you are employed in the theme park division. Its quite clear...they do that to maintain rumor control. How do I know? No....I am not an Imagineer..but I DO know quite a few..its not negotiable..if/when they catch you posting...you will see that I am right on this.

Very true. In august I met a group of about 20 Imagineers at Perkins in the Crossroads shopping center. I went over to just say hi (i was kind of shocked when i saw Imagineering vans and cars in the parking lot) and i asked a couple of question. I got nowhere fast. No information I didn't know. They are so careful with what they say. Corrus, you might want to watch yourself.

Okay...to get back on topic...I personally like Primeval Whirl. Granted it has less theming than many other disney rides, if you compare it with any Six Flags coaster you will see a much larger amount of theming in Primeval Whirl. Also...whoever said this would be good for a four year old....this would have to be an exceptionally large four year old to meet the 48" height requirement. Regardless, I agree that people need to stop complaining about this attraction. Many of you admittidly do not appreciate this attraction but do not continue to trash a ride you have not ridden...NowInc comes to mind, and I wish you all would do the same. I am happy some of you do not like this ride, but as another said, simply do not ride it. I don't like It's a Small World but I certainly don't start websites calling for its demise (even though I am convinced those dolls are possessed by Satan). You have to realize what would happen if disney were to NOT build these two attractions. Beastlie Kingdomme, at earliest, is slated to open in LATE 2005, probably 2006. Do you realize that if Primeval and TriceraTop were not to open now, that would be seven years from one new attraction to another for this park. Animal Kingdom cannot afford this. Thus, they build a duel track coaster and I can GUARANTEE YOU this will be on the cover of park guides as soon as it opens. Also, am I the only one to notice that this coaster is quite visible from the road in front of Animal Kingdom? This attraction will be popular with or without your support and disney is plugging it not as an A, B, or C ride, but as an E-Ride--I would guess it will have FastPass before the year is through. I believe each track has 13 cars, so for each ride cycle, the two tracks combined would send 104 guests through...very large capacity. I think it's rather obvious that disney is planning on this being quite popular. If you don't like it, just consider it a step toward Beastlie. Disney's measure of success is not how many people go on a ride, but how many people enjoy it and come off happy. Your logic is a little off, though. The idea behind DinoRama is to have one attraction for older kids and adults (Primeval) and one for the little kids(TriceraTop). This allows for everyone in a family to enjoy an attraction without needing to leave their family and by having Primeval's capacity so high, I'd guess disney is hoping for moderately short lines (under 1/2 hour) so the little kids don't have to be "diverted" too much...I certainly see the logic in this. It's only a continuation of what Dinoland has ALWAYS been. They had Dinosaur for the big kids and adults and the Boneyard for the little kids...let's think about this for another second...why would disney double the number of attractions in a land opposite the area of a proposed NEW land??? Perhaps to divert attentions???

Nope, definately not THE random drop sequence that was being planned with multiple launches from the bottom to regular 13 floor drops to the multiple jumps they have now.

Sure, it is somewhat random now ( i think) , with a different number of jumps you can do but it's not THE random drop sequence.

there is no variance in the number of drops at this point--only a small variance in the length of each drop..but the first drop always drops from the 13th floor, the second always rises slightly above the 11th floor and drops to the 11th before making the full drop, and the third always barely makes it to the 11th floor before dropping w/o stopping. The random drop sequence is said to have a different number of drops, length of drops, and sequence of drops every time you ride...I believe a computer is supposed to randomly pick what will happen...it'll be so awesome because the two times there have been new drop sequences, I had no idea what to expect and it made the experience 1000 times better! With this change, every ride would be like that!
