The games are like traditional midway games, they arn't very themed like they say they are, I think everything costs two dollars and you can win a stuffed animal that looks like something you catch off a float at Mardi Gras and believe me I live in New Orleans. Plus all the prizes are the same, these lame colored snakes, NOT EVEN DINOSAURS!!!!!

The ride is opening in March. So there will be no need for soft openings in April

Hate that whole hester and Chester's area...cheap and tacky IMHO. $2.00 for one try at a carnival game is outrageous! My hubby and I walked through, didn't top even though the "hawkers" were trying to get us to. That roller coaster better be really good, or that area is going to be a waste.

My family and I visited WDW in Jan. 2002 and enjoyed the new Dino-rama section of Dinoland. My daughters loved the game section and the two dollar price per game was less than we found for similar type games at Sea World, and the prizes we won were far better than any we've ever won, anywhere. As for the theming of the area, I thought that it fit the storyline of Chester and Hester's perfectly. I felt as though I was traveling along Route 66 and here was this tacky little road side attraction, that at one time dotted the American landscape. Remember that this is a continuation of an original imagineering concept. I don't think they could have done "tacky" any better. As for the rides themselves, I think many of you are under estimating the entertainment factor these rides will provide. As for Primeval Whirl, a free spinning car combined with sharp turns and shorts drops will provide a great thrill for the youngsters as well as a good many adults. I forsee many laughing and smiling guests. As for the Tri. Spin, we didn't ride it, but visually, I found it really interesting. Think of these additions with this in mind; the more folks we can get into AK, the more reason to justify bigger attractions to come. It's sort of a catch 22, but I hope that this is just a small taste of something much bigger to come. Those are just my thoughts on the subject.

It seems everyone here is pretty split on this..And I really can't understand why some people are spewinf such venom over it.
You are getting Beastly Kingdom, it's been green-lighted, and will be built eventually. And for every E-ticket, there has to be some lower-class rides..It's a balance. They want to build more revenue and attendance base before building the New, and amazing land. Be thankful they didn't do what Busch Gardens did...Offer annual passes for 40 bucks, so they could raise money really fast and build Rhino Rally...Now they have people hanging all over the place, and upkeep of the park has decreased incredibly..It's turned into a trash heep. Instead, we get an OPTIONAL area (notice it's off to the side and out of the way of the main paths...) that YOU DON'T EVEN HAVE TO WALK THROUGH that will give quite a few people some decent entertainment, and take crowds away from the other, more fun rides..As this post shows, many people enjoy these attractions, so just cool it...You will get something you enjoy too. I feel like Moses...The promise land is comming...(Beastly kingdom)

Cars are running

As of this weekend, cars were running on both sides of Primeval Whirl. No one in them yet, and the construction walls are still up.

Soft openings are expected to start within the next 2 weeks. And the ride opens on April 22.

Personally, I am looking forward to Dino-Rama. I am glad that Primeval Whirl should be open when we visit. I don't do really well with roller coasters so this will probably be about my speed. As for the carnival atmosphere, well I grew up at the Jersey shore so it will probably bring back a lot of childhood memories. I may end up hating this section but I am willing to give it a try first.

I agree with JEDI from Poincey... looked like two rows, two seats each. Some kind of narrow bar comes down (horsecollar fashion, only less constricting). Does look like fun!

I understand that there will be a CM party at AK on the 16th, after the park closes. CMs will get a preview of the ride.

Six Flags Inc. uses a whole different policy!! :sohappy:
