"Gay and bisexual men in monogamous relationships can give blood in the U.S. without abstaining from sex under updated federal health guidelines that focus on donors’ behavior, not their sexual orientation.

The Food and Drug Administration guidelines finalized Thursday ease decades-old restrictions designed to protect the blood supply from HIV. The agency announced plans for the change in January and said this week the new approach can now be implemented by blood banks.

The updated guidelines do away with a requirement that men who have sex with men abstain from sex for three months prior to giving blood."

I understand how difficult it is to remain apolitical, but that is what you have to do in order to post on a forum that does not allow political discussions.

The moderators of this forum have said that political discussions are not allowed. Either follow them or suffer the consequences. It's not that hard. Some of y'all want to play the victim so badly it hurts.

There are numerous other threads, including several dealing with DeSantis in the main forum, that have been allowed to become political by the very nature of their topics. I assumed—based on some of the earlier posts here, and given everything that’s happening in Florida right now—that this might be one of those threads. I accept that I was mistaken in that assumption, which is why I asked for clarification on where I would be allowed to post the story. If it turns out that I can’t post it anywhere, then so be it.

And the conversations that meander into the off-topic political realm are promptly removed. Again, no one gets special treatment on this forum. The moderation is well-balanced.

I've worked very hard to keep those threads as apolitical as possible by trying to keep the discussion on the topic of RCID as much as possible without delving into what caused the issue.

Once Marvel finally gets around to doing "Young Avengers" they will have a lot more Pride merch. Wiccan, Hulkling, Young Loki, America Chavez, Noh-Var and Prodigy are all either gay, lesbian or bisexual.

Supposedly Wiccan (Wanda's son Billy) will be played by Heartstopper's Joe Locke in the upcoming Agatha: Coven of Chaos show.

I am not criticising the moderators. I have defended them on numerous occasions.

You are mistaken in your characterisation of the threads I am referring to. They are full of posts that are political in nature, because the topics themselves are political. Now, when people veer off into broader political or partisan commentary, the moderators do indeed step in. But political posts that stick strictly to the topic at hand are very much present in the DeSantis threads. I was trying to discuss the story in the same spirit here, without opening up a larger can of ideological worms, but I accept that I made a miscalculation and will move on out of respect for the moderators’ wishes.
