Let's get a list going of specific sites that do this. I'm curious to see the proper handling of the issue and am interested to see examples.

Really?

You want to get THIS smug about the thread?

Because we ALL have time to bow to whim and produce examples...because obviously we're lying out our a$$es and are just making up facts to win this argument...

Dude...really...grow up.

If you'd ever worked in retail you'd understand this. It's just common courtesy if nothing else. Especially if you want to keep a decent customer base. I don't care how large a company you are...if you start letting service slide...you're going to feel it.

In the world of internet commerce this fact is ever more important!

Not smug. Just kinda surprised by all the hypersensitivity. Seems to me that the people who are most upset are those on the other side of the fence, not on this side. :)

Unless you can produce what you said, then yes, you are lying. :p

Don't write a check your mouth can't cash.

I know all about receiving orders on the internet. I own an internet business. :)

How convienent you also own an internet business! Could've predicted that retort from a mile away...:brick:

You want to call me a liar...fine...doesn't phase me in the least. Tragically I don't have the time, energy, nor desire to produce examples for someone who in less that 100 posts has already proved to be a less that desirable poster. Your attitude is doing nothing to endear yourself to these boards...not that you probably care.

I'm done...EG out.

Yeah, maybe OP should've read the thread, but if it was not a legal transaction, than disney never should have agreed to it and taken his money. He's only complaining that he wasnt notified. I mean, if I ordered an item online with a credit card that was no good, and they completed the order and told me it was shipped, when it really wasnt, I'd see a problem with it too. But apparently I'm just stupid because I didnt read the fine print saying "Not our problem"

The point remains. If you call a McDonald's and ask for General Tso's Chicken then hang up the phone, they're not going to call you back to tell you you're not getting it. It's clear that General Tso's chicken was never an option for you to purchase, so it's not their duty to hunt you down.

Just to add fuel to the fire.

The correct analogy is

You call McDonalds and ask for General Tso's Chicken

They say "OK, your order is completed"

Many hours later, when you still have not recived your Chicken you call back, and they say "Oh, we don't carry General Tso's Chicken. By 'Order Completed' we mean 'since we don't have that item we are not going to deliver it to you."

Really though, I have worked customer service in the past, and I have ordered many many things through the Internet. Whenver there was any sort of trouble with the order I have received an email. Off the top of my head, places that have sent me a email notifying me that an item was back ordered or not shipping, or some other issue - Amazon.com, NewEgg, Soupbase.com, American Girl, and BUDK.

Yes the OP was wrong, but a simple email from Disneyshopping that said "Your order has been canceled because you requested custimization that we do not provide" would have gone a long way to keeping a customer.

Now, I am going to go open my Internet pie service, complete with custom logos on the pie.

I know right!

Straight from the site!

Once again.... what is this reading thing?
:ROFLOL:

Since you love bringing your ability to read, here's the facts as I posted originally

1. Item ordered 1 1/2 weeks ago
2. Website stated order was complete
3. We initiated the call and found out order was cancelled, Disney would not have emailed us.

I was not upset because of the lack of being able to use the word Disney, I was perturbed because I did not receive any information from Disney stating that my order was cancelled.

Since you like analogies so much, f you bought a tshirt that said "I am perfect and you're not" from Amazon and the site said the order was completed, yet you hadn't received your item, would you wait indefinately for it to arrive, or would you call and ask where the item was? If they had cancelled the item, would you expect them to contact you?

And with that, I will add you to my coveted ignore list, which you are the only pitiful member on it, you should feel honored.

Buh, Bye

All depends. Can I get it personalized? :animwink:
Yes. However you are not allowed to use vowels. The vowels are currently in contract negotiations.

Yes, please. Apple with a side of vanilla ice cream, or even better, if you have some peach cobbler that would divine! Thanks! :D
Absolutely but may I suggest the very had to get Village Inn strawberry pineapple pie which as far as I am concerned is the best food on the planet.

:ROFLOL: Richard, can we get some terms and conditions on that slice of pie? Deliver? Thanks!
All pies are virtual and any kind you request will virtually be delivered virtually instantly. Writing on the pies is however limited to the afore mention now vowels allowed limitation.

I just want to know what online business this guy owns so I can make sure to never deal with him. Your attitude stinks WBC and I'm guessing that you're the guy that runs his mouth at the sports bar on Saturday night and then you cower down at the first person that walks your way.

Give the dude a break, he was probably caught up in the excitement of getting this shirt made for his kid. I can only pray that no woman has been dumb enough to reproduce with you yet.

Yeah not sending an email was pretty careless on Disney's part.

I deal with other websites that create tshirts all the time, and whenever I post one for sale that violates a copyright, they email me right away to notify me that it will be taken down. To me the same thing should have happened here.

Yup sure do. www.texasbbqrub.com

You have the time and energy, but you may not have the desire. Like I said, if you can't back up a claim, don't bring the claim to the table. :p

I'm sorry if I hurt your feelings and caused a stir, I really didn't think anyone would get this upset over things. Kinda sensitive in here.

I'm done...EG out.

cheers
