Looking VERY forward to it, the ride in Hogwarts especially.
Haven't seen a cutting edge attraction in Orlando since......ummm.....wow....:shrug:Spidey or M:S?

Agreed, I really haven't been to into the movies or books but i am for one very excited to see what they have up their sleeves.

Ah, gotta love the fanboy hate for something that will be better than anything Disney has done in almost 20 years.
If you have no interest whatsoever in anything Harry Potter like me..never saw a movie or read a book and have no desire too then it is not really fanboy hate..

I will never go see Harry Potter Land or whatever it is called because I have no desire too...I prefer to be riding It's A Small World over and over again then to do that.

One of the many reasons I never go to Universal is because I have no interest in the rides/attractions there.

Not just because I "snort pixie dust" I genuinely have no interest in Men in Black, The Simpsons, Harry Potter or any of the other things they offer.

I will however bring Maggie to Sea World..:D

Captainkidd... you really need to stop drinking the pixiedust Punch and face some reality. I am with Sir Goofy. Disney has not been synonamous with being the best for quite some time.
Just because he posted a poll saying he has no interest in this does not mean he is drinking pixie dust punch..:hammer:

Can't he just not like Harry Potter stuff and really have no interest in seeing it?..Like I do not..

If it were being built in WDW, they'd be foaming at the mouth. Universal won't hurt you folks...it's actually kinda fun:eek: The TERROR!

Whatever!! Disney is the bestest! Nothing can EVER beat it or top it! The new Snow White meet and greet at EPCOT will be better than all of "Potterland"! :hammer: :hammer: :hammer:

I'm very excited about the new technology. If nothing else, people should ride it for a completely new experience. Of course, maybe they would not like some of the rides in Disney afterwards if they did.

To answer the original question, to me, the WWoHP is a realization of a world I've been enamored with for the past 10 years. I finally get to walk through Hogsmeade, cast spells with a wand, and visit Hogwarts. This is a BIG DEAL for those of us who have grown up with Harry Potter and know the books inside and out. It also doesn't hurt that nothing like this has been added to Orlando in years!

Not if they did not like Harry Potter!

I do not like Mission Space so I do not ride it..and it is at WDW

Also, I am not interested in Universal because most of the rides there do not have any appeal to me..maybe when Maggie is older and shows interest in them then I would go..I am not avoiding it because it is not Disney..

Like I said above..just because you have no interest in the HP thing at Universal does not mean you hate Universal....

All the OP did was say is anyone else here not interested in HP..not anywhere in this thread did he say he hated Universal and Disney is better..

Hey, I like Universal. We're spending the first 3 days of our vacation there. I think it's set up wonderfully, and I love the original park. IOA, eh - It was OK. I'm not a huge coaster junkie, so Hulk and Dueling Dragons aren't rides for me. I thought Jurassic Park was a lesser version of Dinosaur at AK, and I think Dudley Do Right is a Six Flags version of Splash Mountain.

There are many things Disney misses the mark on. The Stitch garbage. The ticketed parties are a waste.

I guess I'm just more of a Disney person at heart. After 2 days at Universal, I'm done. We spend 2 weeks at Disney and could easily spend a few more days.

I so agree with you Dana. I don't hate Universal but I do hate Harry Potter, it totally gets on my nerves.
There is no way that it could be better than anything Disney does for me because I loathe it! :ROFLOL: If Disney got it I would still loathe it just as I do the stupid American Idol thing.

With that said I have never been to Universal because I go to Orlando for WDW. There are plenty of regular theme parks I can go to closer to home and that is just what I see Universal being a theme park. Maybe one day if I can spare a Disney day but right now I also would rather be at WDW! :D

You really do not have to explain yourself..

Just because you are not looking forward to the HP world thing apparently you are anti-universal and snorting pixie dust..and if you are..who really cares?

This thread was not started as who prefers Universal over Disney..yet a few people made it seem like that is what people are saying..I mean where in this thread do you see a post from someone saying they thought Universal would hurt them?..Or that they would be happier if HP world was built on Disney property?

The thing is..even if you hate Universal and prefer Disney and think Disney is better..you have that right..just like others here think Disney has gone downhill and are looking forward to what Universal has to offer.

We all have our own preferences people..seriously..this whole "pixie dust snorting" thing because you prefer Disney or find no fault with Disney is annoying.

JMO..

Except the ride will be the better themed and more technically advanced than anything Disney has built. Ever.

You have no idea what your missing. US is far from a "regular" theme park. But hey, one less person in line in fornt of me!

I'm curious as to why you think JP is a lesser version of Dinosaur. I enjoy Dino, but there is so little to see in comparison to JPRA.

The special effects in Jurassic Park are extremely weak I felt. I didn't think there was much to see at all. The T-rex at the end did nothing for me.

If you like Harry Potter.. if you don't not so much.

lol.. then I guess it works out for both of us, because your visit to US is one less person in front of me! On a serious note though, no matter if it is a great park or not, I would only drive 9-10 hours to go to WDW there is nothing else that is worth it.(to me) I would only be stressing over losing a WDW day while I was there anyway. (but again that is just me) :D

What does liking what the ride is about have to do with it's theming and technical aspects.

If you don't care for what the ride is based on you are probably not going to ride it even if you are there. If Disney built a Harry Potter ride I would not ride it as I don't like Harry Potter. (As much as I love Disney I hate American Idol thus I will not see it either.) That's why I fall into the I couldn't care less category. Isn't that what the thread is about?? :D

I would have to respectfully disagree, I think everyone should give everything a chance. I hate AI, but I gave the show a chance and I actually REALLY enjoyed it. Again, that is just my opinion.

I am netural on this. I have never read a Harry Potter book or have seen a Harry Potter movie. I tried to watch on when it came on TV but I think I lasted 30 minutes with it. It want that I thought it was a bad movie, it just didnt appeal to me.

That being said, what will happen in 10 to 15 years from now? Will people be saying "they need to refurb that Harry Potter area its so 2005" Will Harry Potter go the way of Back to the Future?

I see what you did there;)

It won't. This is the Star Wars of our generation. Nothing else comes close. Now, people may start to see how outdated most of the attractions are in WDW after they've ridden both Spiderman and Harry Potter...

I understand where you are coming from, but I guess if I really, really dislike something then I want no part of it even if it is put in a place that I love. (such as AI at DHS)

I love Universal Orlando but absolutely HATE:fork: Harry Potter! I will go to Universal again in the future but I will forever hate the WWoHP for what it is and what it did to Dueling Dragons.
