Okay, *sigh* before we label anybody else without knowing anything about them, nobody said he was evil or wrong. My dad hunts, fine, whatever. However, this is supposed to remain kid friendly, and while the innuendo definitely flies around here, a picture of a dead animal carcass is a bit of a different thing. Some people will find it disturbing. That's all. If he wants to keep the pic, fine, but as Erika said, a warning would've been appreciated.

MouseMadness (and others), I love coming to this thread and putting faces to personalities expressed in writing by members. I wanted to give the guy some support because it looked like a tide of backlash against his photo was beginning to swell. Posting a photo of ones self for the first time is such a personal thing, that I would hate to see anybody get run off by a run of negative feedback.

Likewise, in offering him support I am not labeling anyone here. I love you guys!

Nice buck!

No offense, but I see worse on the highway each and every day. There is no gore in the pic but I do understand where people are coming from.

Okay, I've grown up on a plantation in the islands, I've seen what the farmhands do to pigs for the luaus, and not to mention the chickens. But I REEEEAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLYYYYYYYYY could have done without that hunting photo. Or as someone earlier posted. A nice warning would do. If for no other reason than out of courtesy for some of our younger or more sensative members.

Hi everyone!

Just happened to wander onto this thread... hope you don't mind if I jump in!

Here's me in November, 1971 on Main Street, USA

Here's me in February, 2004 in the exact same spot! (minus the bad hair and even worse shoes!)

Don't you think you've been sitting on that curb long enough, AKQJ10? I mean, really - 32 years in the same spot! Give someone else a turn! :p

No, it is great that you have those pictures. Very nice! Did that mouseketeer cap get smaller over the years? They just don't make 'em like they used to.

No, I just think that I finally grew into my head that was way too big for my skinny little body way back then! (Too bad my waist joined in the growth)

str8fan2005,

Don't let overly sensitive people beat you up over your picture. Whether you change it or not is up to you, but you haven't done anything wrong. Maybe they don't understand deer hunting is a big thing in this country (even the upper midwest) and that was a nice buck that you were understandably proud of. There have been a lot worse photos posted and nobody got too bent out of shape. Pictures like yours are published in the sports pages of my local newspaper every weekend and not in the section on criminal news.

Bambi? What next, fishermen or aquarium keepers are evil because of Finding Nemo?

That said, str8fan2005, now you know.

 Wh was beating him up? Two people warned him that some posters might be disturbed, and one person (me) said that a picture like that might be better off if accompanied by a warning. I DO understand that hunting is a big thing, and I even acknowledged that hunted animals lead better lives than most livestock. I don't feel like I was out of line.

 Yeah, like me! Although I would prefer a place a bit closer to the churro cart...

Like I said earlier, it wasn't one particular person, but the combination of posts which included taking his photo and posting it on the hula man's body - it read to me like a negative trend was developing and I tried to soften it.

The young man we are talking about is around 16 years old, hasn't been on the boards long, and it was his first time to post a photo of himself here, I think.

I meant no harm to you.

Jump on in, that's what it's about - and don't believe Speck when he says that you have to be nekkid to jump

Not to be a.....instigator...but christy...theres people I know that have been hunting since we were about 6 or 7, so hunting can be kid friendly. Our ancestors hunted, and that mentality has been passed down for generations. Oh, more wildlife is killed in harvesting than in hunting every year.
