Just looking at that logo triggers the theme song to play in my head :)... Can't wait to see what they'll do for season 2!

They won't get rid of values - big selling point for sports and youth groups
You are correct however, if they are going to a charge-by-location-plan, the All-Star resorts will always remain the cheapest as the only park they are "close" to is AK.

I am going to go out on a limb and say that Star Wars is the most popular IP that has ever existed. If there was ever an IP that needed its own hotel it is Star Wars.
If they were to build a a DVC Star Wars resort, I might be dumb enough to drink the Kool-aid and buy in to it. Yes, it one of the greatest franchises out there with a enormous fan base. They wouldn't have any problems selling it out no matter jim crazy the price point might be.

As much of a success that I also believe a Star Wars themed hotel could be, I also don't agree that they will do it now. They will get the visitors from the Star Wars fan base in two years whether they build the hotel or not. If they wait, say till the push for star wars land calms down (not saying it becomes unpopular, but just till the monster crowds it created start to go away), and then build a star wars resort, it gives a whole new reason for that huge fan base to come back, creating a second bang. It's just like spacing out multiple rides or lands...you don't want to come out with too much at one time. If you space it out, then the same people will be making multiple trips, rather than them making one trip to see both.
Good point Mr. Iger

Praying there is no Star Wars resort. Resorts shouldn't be that specifically themed to an IP.

There are oodles of resorts at WDW that are not tied to anything specific. I don't get why anyone would be up in arms if they built a Star Wars one, which clearly, people want and would fork out money for. It doesn't detract from anything pre-existing.

At least it would be nice, seeing as it would be tied to Iger's legacy (ego).

That said, I'd never stay there secondary to the price, but would definitely pop my head in.

For a Star Wars resort, how about just rethemeing the northern most cluster of buildings at Pop Century (the ones closest to where the gondola station would be) to Start Wars?

If the rumors of a Star Wars resort are true, I wonder if Uni would consider building a Harry Potter themed resort, complete with rooms designed to look like the different Houses. I think that there is definitely a percentage of people who would want to stay in either resort.

If Disney is planning a SW resort, they should really get moving on it. There are going to be a lot of people in 2 years who will keep it almost constantly booked.

Difference is that TWDC owns Star Wars lock stock and barrel, Universal only has license for Potter and the owners would have to approve a hotel with the Potter theme. Jo sez no!

I agree, but it would have to be super immersive. Like Mos Eisley replica buildings. Or Cloud City. They do that, and I would be sorely tempted.
