Lots of discussion going on about the possibility of new resorts being built in addition to the just announced Coronado Springs high-rise and CBR DVC. It is speculated these resorts may be located in the center of the DHS/Epcot area as seen here:

Although nothing for this area seems likely at this time, there is lots of potential NW of Epcot:

If the rumors of a Star Wars resort are true, I wonder if Uni would consider building a Harry Potter themed resort, complete with rooms designed to look like the different Houses. I think that there is definitely a percentage of people who would want to stay in either resort.

If Disney is planning a SW resort, they should really get moving on it. There are going to be a lot of people in 2 years who will keep it almost constantly booked.

@danlb_2000 do you have the most recent RCID map showing usable land?

Here is the suitability map for that area. The "New Epcot Resort" area is considered suitable and so would the "New Tishman" area since it's already build on. "Beach Club Addition" appears to be a mix of unsuitable and marginally suitable. The area you have marked as "DHS Resort" and "Star Wars" resort is considered un-suitable, BUT this land was recently released from the conservation easement and we know they are going to build the new entrance road across it and possible the gondola path so it seems that they are willing to make use of this land.

Of any IP, I would think Star Wars would be able to pull it off. the fanbase spans 60+ years (adults who saw the originals all the way to kids today) and i don't see that changing anytime soon. while not everyone likes star wars, i think there are enough guests to fill a star wars resort for a good 30+ years.

And just like the new Pandora area in AK is based on the planet, and not the movie, a SW resort could easily be based on different planets, rather than the movies themselves.

Not sure disney needs more deluxe resorts in massive quantity but they will not put value resorts attached or very near to a park. Also adding more hotels means more busses on the road... kind of goes against current thinking of less traffic...

@P_Radden and @danlb_2000 this was mentioned a while back by Spirit and I was thinking the same thing, could there be room at the entrance to Epcot, I believe it was the right... Something about this resort being connected to the park like in DL.

Anything is possible but at the moment everything around the Epcot entrance, with the exception of a few patches by the solar far, are still conservation lands, so they would need to release the conservation easement before they did anything.

Wut? More guests > less traffic. Any initiative designed to reduce traffic will not be at the expense of more guests.
