I guess I don't understand. I thought I have seen many comments on this website saying the problem with WDW is there are too many WDW hotels that don't get filled to capacity now. And with the other hotels being built on Flamingo, and surrounding area, why would WDW build more hotels? Even DVC's , are all of the timeshare for all WDW DVC's bought?

That's not correct. @ParentsOf4 probably has the data, but WDW resorts have been near or above 90% capacity for awhile now. That's considered "fully occupied" in the industry due to the difficulty of coordinating check-in and check-out days. It's a lot easier to fill Saturday nights than Wednesday nights.

Only by idiots that don't know any better. Disney isn't trying to trick anyone with their room occupancy level as some have indicated. You don't spend millions of dollars on new hotels that won't have guests in them. We may not like everything that TWDC does, but stupid they are not.

Anything is possible but at the moment everything around the Epcot entrance, with the exception of a few patches by the solar far, are still conservation lands, so they would need to release the conservation easement before they did anything.
So with the "new" Disney seeming to prefer to go vertical, existing space in parking areas could be utilized, no? And an Kidana type parking structure or a full parking ramp could replace existing parking lots, no?

And a SW resort might be themed to different planets. Not really that different from theming to a few movies.

Ooooh! I hope they have one themed around Alderaan...

As other have stated that problem is just hyped by people here and not based on any factual evidence.

Personal example, My last 2 trips I have had to do a split stay due to availability, and I ran into a "Length of Stay Requirement" issue when trying to book a 2 and 3 night trip respectively.
I don't think these resorts are purposely kicking me out after so many days...or just simply not wanting my money for 2 nights only (this was frustrating though!)

Of any IP, I would think Star Wars would be able to pull it off. the fanbase spans 60+ years (adults who saw the originals all the way to kids today) and i don't see that changing anytime soon. while not everyone likes star wars, i think there are enough guests to fill a star wars resort for a good 30+ years.
I am going to go out on a limb and say that Star Wars is the most popular IP that has ever existed. If there was ever an IP that needed its own hotel it is Star Wars.

Nothing with DVC is "confirmed" until it is officially announced, but Martin did off-handedly mention in the "Gondola" thread that there's going to be DVC added at CBR.
I believe Martin also said that their is a few proposals for DVC right now, and none are a definite. Just different proposals for what would come after WL. Disney has not confirmed anything yet, and my money is on their is no definite answer yet either.

If the rumors of a Star Wars resort are true, I wonder if Uni would consider building a Harry Potter themed resort, complete with rooms designed to look like the different Houses. I think that there is definitely a percentage of people who would want to stay in either resort.

If Disney is planning a SW resort, they should really get moving on it. There are going to be a lot of people in 2 years who will keep it almost constantly booked.
As much of a success that I also believe a Star Wars themed hotel could be, I also don't agree that they will do it now. They will get the visitors from the Star Wars fan base in two years whether they build the hotel or not. If they wait, say till the push for star wars land calms down (not saying it becomes unpopular, but just till the monster crowds it created start to go away), and then build a star wars resort, it gives a whole new reason for that huge fan base to come back, creating a second bang. It's just like spacing out multiple rides or lands...you don't want to come out with too much at one time. If you space it out, then the same people will be making multiple trips, rather than them making one trip to see both.
