Possible Frontierland expansion

Pixar in Tomorrowland is as far as they should go IMO at the mk. Except possibly with parades and specialized events. IMO.

There's nothing about being "Pixar" which should ghettoize it to Tomorrowland.

While Tomorrowland does have Buzz and Monsters; Fantasyland has Merida. And Frontierland has had Woody and friends M&Gs. And HEA features Nemo, Up, A Bug's Life, Ratatouille, WALL*E, Cars, Inside Out, and Incredibles.

Toy Story. Specifically a certain cowboy.

Any Woody's Roundup attraction would be a terrible fit for Frontierland. Even the M&G is pushing matters.

Aside from the aforementioned Lone Ranger option, there's really very little Disney IP that would fit Frontierland properly. One would hope that means that any expansion there would involve something non-IP oriented (e.g. Western River Expedition, Lewis & Clark, Land of Legends, etc) but what it instead means is that we'll never get an expansion or any that occurs will mess us the theming.

I do think Frontierland would really benefit from a high quality family oriented Disney dark ride or two to balance the attraction types in that corner of the park.

Like I said, parades and such work fine IMO. But the content produced by the studio always has a futuristic aesthetic due to being computer generated. No matter the storyline or era it just feels "futurey".

Just my opinion.

This might sound a little crazy, but i could see Nevarro or Arvala-7 from the Mandolorian fitting in as an expansion to the park. I probably wouldn't do it as there is already enough star wars in WDW, but the idea of a space westerny area would be pretty neat.

Personally my vote would be to make a whole new land across the canal themed to the pacific north west. Give it a grizzly River run inspired ride and dig up the old Geyser Mountain launch/drop tower concept. add in some fishing village buildings for shops and restaurants.

Can't you see Big Thunder there, just to the right of the cow in the purple hat?

The number of Toy Story rides in WDW has doubled every 10 years since 1998. Around the world, it’s even more severe, as the number of rides went from 7 to 20 in the last 10 years. A Buzz shooter ride is the only non-spinner ride that’s been in every castle park. In 2018 alone, John Lasseter’s final year, 6 Toy Story rides debuted.

But with Lasseter gone, perhaps we’ll flatten the curve!

It’s excellent. The critics had it on for Johnny Depp and gave the movie bad reviews before it came out. Lots of action. Give it a watch.

my biggest issue with it was its editing and pacing. It felt like I was watching a assembly edit instead of the final cut. chop off about 20 minutes and tighten the pacing and it would be great! I will say though the whole climax/Lone Ranger sequence was so much fun!

If we distance Chappie from the parks, we can keep it from spreading to AK.

great idea - they could also dust off the discovery bay ideas from Disneyland maybe use some of the ideas from Tokyosmysterious island

Today I learned that Brave is a Pixar movie. For some reason I thought it was Disney Animation Studios.

The "Disney Princesses" Brand was created as purely a marketing concept to sell princess merch. All of them together strengthened the brand of each one individually. (Which is why Elsa and Anna were never officially inducted since they can stand on their own.)

However, people who don't realize that, try to abstract a 'rule' over what makes a DP a DP. And there is no rule that fits. To those who say it can't be Leia or Storm (who, in the comic books, is a queen of an African tribe, and married Black Panther), or Vanellope, they say, "it has to be from a Disney Studio Animation and hand drawn", I love to point out Merida, who is not any of those things. :D

I was considering this. I believe Brave was created by someone who was considering what they would have envisioned a Disney movie would look like in the future but when they were young.

Then they wrote the script with a 'contemporary perspective'.

I guess another property that could be considered for Frontierland could be Zorro - not only the old Disney TV series, but also some of the movies were made by Fox so I would think Disney now owns their rights (not however the more recent Antonio Banderas ones).

That'd be a good choice and a way to incorporate (IMO) a needed stunt show in Frontierland. I always thought a Buffalo Bill sharp shooter show would work but I could see "Zorro" working well. Now there's a revival series I'd consider watching on Disney+. Cool idea!
