Possible Frontierland expansion

Others may see my threads as a proper locale to defecate in, but most posts actually are quite topical. And it's up to posters to show some self restraint and not talk when there is nothing worth discussing. ... and they are not unmoderated threads by any means.

The real information was on my thread, thanks to lightbulb and was read quite well (it is all over the Twitverse).

This thread is nothing but armchair Imagineering and 'what ifs?' let's be fair.

And, frankly, most every thread you find here (at least on News and Rumors) tends to have five pages worth reading (10 if you're lucky) before they go off on all sorts of tangents. At least on mine, major news is still being dropped 1150-plus pages in.

But I can't wait for Wednesday when Disney (if the Chinese allow them) makes all those big announcements for Shanghai. By the time I'm on this site, there'll probably be eight threads here with everyone acting like this was a surprise ...and I can't wait for D23 when I'm going to be sooooo far away off in the wilderness with no desire, time or means to discuss what I told you would likely be coming!

You and I both know a lot of people post just to hear themselves talk...... Trying to keep actual information straight is pretty difficult.

That whole area is not being used for what it was designed for. It tales up a large area and the whole Frontierland concept is not politically correct any more. Sorry but the old west and all that goes with it is being written out of history because there simply is no non-violent PC version. Drinking, smoking, whores, killing Indians etc. etc. Tom Sawyer is pretty much banned.

It's a dead concept face it.

Sounds like another non-PC concept:

Pirates.

I wouldn't count on the economy to drive MK attendance. We are over due in the US for a recession, it happens on a regular basis. Right now there a few things going on in the finance world that point to some big slows down coming up but we will see what effect it has on the US. Do realize WDW has a large foreign exposure, WDW isn't dependent on the US economy which can be good or bad.

Oh I agree, last year MK finished somewhere around 11-12% peak crowds. 30% peak simply isnt sustainable.

It's one of my favorite Disney attractions anywhere. And it would obviously get some upgrades if it was built from scratch in DHS

Well as far as anyone can tell, the only people who have heard it is from that silly blogger. Everyone else in the know has told me (and @skubersky ) that Indy just isnt happening.

Edit: All my sources I should say.

Sometimes i really wonder where y'all come up with this information. That i am personally aware of nothing is on the check book for expansion of fronteirland. There will be upgrades to make TSI a little more hi tech for the 21st century tech savy children. But ROA and the Lily Belle are not going anywhere. The budget has been set for MK's 50th birthday. Most of it will just go to renovating and sprucing up some attractions. MK is like Manhattan Island you cant really build anything anymore because its been all built up. Possibly if it ever hapoens in the future another space mountain event may happen where an attraction is put behind the WDWRR. With a tunnel linking it to the main park or simply put taking out another land and building a frozen world or some other crap given the state of who visits disney 10-15 years from now. But Fronteirland is not going anywhere anytime soon.

Its becoming a big issue i hope it thins out but boy o boy i dont recall ever seeing the numbers this high ever. I wouldnt be suprised if by August they broke last years attendance record. There just simply isnt an off season any more at the Magic Kingdom its just that popular. And it will stay like that for ever because lets face it, a boy wizard cant top the fame and power of the mouse across the world.

Well, there's still 2 or 3 weeks in September when the Audience drops to the smallest crowds Disney gets.

I honestly dont visualize the same Indiana Jones ride at DHS. But as for toy story i have heard some chatter that Buzz Lightyear may be relocated from MK to DHS as an expansion along with ever so rumored Pixar Place

With how similar Buzz is to Midway Mania in terms of theme and ride profile, I can't picture that there's any serious chance of this happening.

They would sooner close Buzz and let that be the end of it before they would spend the actual millions it would take to move it over to a park that already has a newer and more popular attraction built around almost literally the same premise.

Why? Why would they relocate a vastly inferior shooter ride to a park that already has a better one ... one that is in the midst of being expanded?

I would disregard that chatter.
