Corless often takes his sources and, once they have proven once or twice, runs with them the second he gets info, so that he can be "first." Sometimes that gets him winners, like the Runaway Overview and Communicore plan (which he deserves credit for), but often leads him to things like this, which is why he has such a... unique reputation in the community.

What bothers me about this more than the rumors at this point (since they're almost certainly false) is that other sites will grab onto this rumor (like the two-year SSE refurb which still isn't officially announced) like it's been confirmed by Disney. Having Disney in the title of the site also makes people assume that Corliss has reliable info. He hits every once in a while but also misses quite often too.

So, this isn't legit or just very "Disney unlikely" to which it means slightly possible that some minute prospect of it happening are about .0000000000001% but still the statistics are ranging on the righter side of the fulcrum plus the additional weight of the grams divided by the idea that the CEO wants to change the Land into the City and make the grasslands into mini-golf and make the restaurant go in the other direction....

Well, is it?

He also thoroughly enjoys running with others’ work and calling it his own “breaking” stories. He’ll then be the first to decry someone who supposedly steals from him. 🙄

That... and he's also a complete toolbag. 🤷‍♂️

might need to start screen grabbin

Well I have found “confirmed” stories about Tron replacing the speedway and Rafiki’s Planet watch. Unfortunately the screenshots show the site name, so don’t really want to post them! I will hang onto them.

But the search bar on the site found both. This story though is now headed with “Rumor”. Seems like he’s rolling back already! :p

This is for clicks... with SWGE opening this week, alot of competition among the Disney fan pages (see what I did there... It's a fan page... not a news site... stop critiquing him and DSNY as news sites)

Here's a fun game, Google (including the quotes): "we told you" site:*****.com (fill in the asterisks with the site name)

529 results. It's amazing how much they have to reaffirm that they were the ones to report something (even though they weren't first a lot of the time).

He also has intentionally misleading headlines. This doesn't seem to be a case of misleading headlines, but still.

I believe it. I've seen it in person. And it's in public view on Twitter on a daily basis. His followers see no wrong, though. 🤔

He's constantly obnoxious on Twitter. Always throwing fits, bragging about how many APs he has to the various Disney parks ... he's the ultimate troll because he thrives on the attention, good or bad. He seeks it out. He knows the reaction he'll get. He has such a poor reputation that even when he does something useful like the Disney Maintenance report thing, it's laughed at.

Either he's truly desperate for clicks or he was fed deliberately bad info (probably both) ... this one seems desperate and very hard to buy.

And it isn't the first time I've heard a lot of cast members can't stand him. I can see why.

I first came across this "news" on instagram and there is not a single word in the caption that would suggest rumor, possibility or any hypothetical situation. Stating it as a blatant fact. I think that is cruel to their followers and any causal Disney fan is being mislead.

Whenever Tom or his site is reporting on rumors, there's nothing even approaching a source mentioned in those articles. He reports it like it's the Voice of God. Even TMZ will preface its often-anonymously sourced information with "TMZ has learned...."

Why does Corles make these kinds of things up? Legitimately bad sources or just clickbait material?

I'd hesitate to accuse anyone of just making the stuff up out of thin air. My guess is he hears this from somewhere, even if it's other people's sources, then runs with it and never corrects himself when his information is wrong.

Another problem with Disney park rumor reporting: You've got thousands and thousands of frontline CMs who could claim to have inside knowledge of what's coming to the parks and know absolutely nothing. But if you're just looking for some source, ANY source, to suit your clickbaity purposes, maybe some random CM will do.

He also thoroughly enjoys running with others’ work and calling it his own “breaking” stories. He’ll then be the first to decry someone who supposedly steals from him. 🙄

I recall he had a spat with BackDoorDisney when his site used photos originally published on the BDD Twitter account. Tom chastised BDD for complaining, saying "that's just how the Internet works."

Stealing photos without attribution is just that, stealing. Even WITH attribution, it's probably not OK. Then again, a fight between Tom and Patrick Spikes is like a Disney -pocalypse.

For those curious, he's now throwing a temper tantrum on his personal Twitter posting screenshots of past stories to show how amazing he thinks he is.

People like him usually burn all their bridges very quickly, and then self-destruct in short manner... Be patient and let time takes its course. Your patience will be greatly rewarded.
I remember a few years ago he went on an absolute tantrum about not being invited to a social media event at a MNSSHP. To the point he even said he was glad not to be going because the quality of their candy was subpar....🙄
