Whenever Tom or his site is reporting on rumors, there's nothing even approaching a source mentioned in those articles. He reports it like it's the Voice of God. Even TMZ will preface its often-anonymously sourced information with "TMZ has learned...."

I'd hesitate to accuse anyone of just making the stuff up out of thin air. My guess is he hears this from somewhere, even if it's other people's sources, then runs with it and never corrects himself when his information is wrong.

Another problem with Disney park rumor reporting: You've got thousands and thousands of frontline CMs who could claim to have inside knowledge of what's coming to the parks and know absolutely nothing. But if you're just looking for some source, ANY source, to suit your clickbaity purposes, maybe some random CM will do.

I recall he had a spat with BackDoorDisney when his site used photos originally published on the BDD Twitter account. Tom chastised BDD for complaining, saying "that's just how the Internet works."

Stealing photos without attribution is just that, stealing. Even WITH attribution, it's probably not OK. Then again, a fight between Tom and Patrick Spikes is like a Disney ******-pocalypse.

For those curious, he's now throwing a temper tantrum on his personal Twitter posting screenshots of past stories to show how amazing he thinks he is.
I wouldn't hesitate for a second....

He throws an absolute fit when any other site steals his pictures. That little episode was hilarious.

The current temper tantrum is fun. He really had to post the headlines of "rumors" he got right, like it vindicates him for throwing this Land/Seas nonsense at the wall and seeing if it sticks. I'm glad many out there are calling him out on this. Also, many of the "rumors" he posted about started here or elsewhere, and some things were just common knowledge (like "confirming" TRON to MK a whole five days before the Expo!).

I was suspicious for a while that they were taking my permit images from here and reposing them instead of going through the public records themselves. I decide to test this by watermarking one, and proved that they were doing just that. I contacted the author and told them that I was fine with them using the image, they just had to credit me and WDWMagic. They just quietly switching the image to one of their own and never responded to my e-mail.

I'm telling you, don't sweat this. There's plenty of valid reasons for being upset at the direction Epcot has gone in the last 15 years, this ain't it.

As in while 3 major construction projects in the park are underway for opening next year...as in mgm is about to be overrun in 75 days...as in a new mass transit direct system is about to be attached to the gateway at the same time?

That “this year”?

Seems like a stretch, but I’ll believe you...and the shovels. Is that before or after they build our caipirinha bar?😉

But if Disney is seriously considering tearing down the Land and Seas pavilions in their entirety (bar Soarin’), they might as well get Josh Gad to narrate the next version of Spaceship Earth, considering that he seems to be in every Disney movie now.

Wait, I'm confused. The OP I quoted said they were going to be done with Epcot if this was true, my point was that this is unlikely to be true, and there's already enough reasons to be upset with how Epcot's changed, I meant more Horizons turning into Mission Space, the Imagination refurb, the SSE descent refurb, the gutting of Innoventions, the slow decay of Wonders, etc.

I don't mind some of the recent changes; on balance, in the last 15 years, they've done a lot more to kill Epcot than if this fake rumor were to be real.

The problem is that every single option is probably listed on a white board during the first brainstorming session, no matter how absurd. So, while misleading to report, it is possible for this idea of demo being "considered" to be technically true, even if it isn't really viewed by anyone from the start as a viable, feasible, or desired option. I have no inside knowledge. That is just me speculating based upon my personal experience in brainstorming, strategic planning, and problem solving. It helps to make sure no stone goes unturn. Occasionally, discussing or joking about a bad or wild idea can actually lead to a good one.

The site who shall not be named is asking for the other boards site to get Credit for the story. Lolol
That's insane. They take tweets, Instagram posts, etc. from others ALL THE TIME and post them as stories. There's typically "credit" in the posts, but it can be easily overlooked. This is an opinion piece, and the author clearly mentions where info on the source can be found.

Sorry...I’m not talking about seas or the land

That’s so stupid it’s not worth giving credence to.

I’m talking about the demolition of innoventions west in 2019
