I was really hoping this thread wasn’t made yet so that I could title it “Dumbass makes almost certainly false claim for attention”
Oh, I was sorely tempted to make it something along those lines. It seemed way too outlandish to actually be true, which has been confirmed by those in the know now.

It’s also worth pointing out Epcot is currently about to begin Phase 3 of the overhaul, which goes against what was posted elsewhere.
Is the Innoventions demo and SSE refurb part of phase 3?

Or is phase 3 all stuff that hasn't been discussed here yet?

Please don't kill me, but a point of clarification.. the Soarin' Building is 100% separate from the rest of the pavilion as it currently sits. It's not out of the realm of possibility that the pavilion could be demolished and not require herculean effort for Soarin' to be supported.. It is currently only connected with a single hallway for the entrance/exit for the queue. While this does NOT prove that what he is saying is correct, let's not act like that was the most egregious part of his claim.. It would actually be very easy to connect to that back area by the figment bathrooms that noone visits.. I have included a very "photochopped" overhead for clarity via Google Maps.View attachment 376969
I've long suggested that Soarin' have a new entrance built in Showcasa Plaza. The queue wouldn't be that much longer than the current queue.

TBH I believe they either change the stories, or delete them so they can't be referenced. A while back when he posted something ridiculous, I made a comment saying it was clickbait and he gave me the honor or replying asking for an example of when he was wrong. I was looking for some of the stories regarding Stitch from a year or so earlier, and couldn't find them.

Plus he has a ton of fans out there that take anything he says as gospel. If he makes a mistake, they just like getting information and defend against any people saying otherwise.

Oh, and they now apparently screen comments to not include any that argue the validity of his claims. I apparently got myself blocked from commenting on the actual site haha
I've looked several times for things I was sure had been misreported, never could find the original article any of the times :cautious:

The "Area" You mention would have been the spot for the Movie Themed ride which became The Great Movie ride...

May not be my place to say so, but I think if a site's credibility is in question to the point where we give it the Voldemort treatment here, don't even bother giving them the extra clicks and clout unless it's being corroborated elsewhere. This feels so far out there that it almost feels like an April Fools' joke.

Closing both down in a park that already doesn't have much to offer in terms of rides, when there's going to be a lot of overflow of people who couldn't get into SWGE seems like a wacky idea.

Well that's not OK. Stealth edits of factually incorrect information is most definitely not allowed by responsible news sites, and he's presenting it as a news site.

I wish one of those news rating companies would dig into his site and expose those crappy editorial practices.

Not to mention Soarin’ can be argued as one of Disney’s signature attractions in Epcot and in WDW in general. Any down time wouldn’t be good for crowds esciplally now with Galaxy’s Edge. Plus 50th

I found one exception (I won't link to it because I don't want to help his site, but it's easy enough to Google). The site reported in September, even with an audacious "CONFIRMED" in the headline, that Rafiki's Planet Watch was closing permanently, and Disney later said it's moving to seasonal operation and reopening this August. The original, uncorrected article is still accessible.
