Better than trying to do it to Epcot.Would a MK.2 be that bad a thing?.)
In all fairness, DMGM was always a bit of MK2.0. Just more grown up.

EPCOT is heading toward the MK 2.0 feel too. What even is DHS these days? It just feels like MK 2.0. Sure, there's good rides now and potentially more with SWL and TSL, but what's the unifying thread with everything going on there?
It's like a conglomerate of different films + a hint of old-school Hollywood.
Shanghai Disneyland is the first of the Magic Kingdoms conceived of as a "Ride the movies" park. Even now, much of the Magic Kingdom is not trying to be Universal Studios.Would a MK.2 be that bad a thing? The "studio" aspect of DHS is dead, and so, then, what could be its theme except "ride the movies"? Which would make it, in effect, MK.2.
The Sinbad ride is a great attraction and the song is every bit the earwig that "it's a small world" is. For those trying to picture it, the closest comparison I can come up with is Splash Mountain level animatronics (maybe a tad better), and just the show scenes (no drops). It's an animatronic driven attraction that we probably did 5 times in our 3 days at DisneySea last year.Nope.
It is one of my favorite Disney attractions anywhere. I believe @WDWFigment would agree ... I think @Buried20KLeague too!
This "solution" to Epcot has resulted in the attendance peaking in 1997 (or 1987 as @marni1971) has suggested. Epcot 2.0 has failed to evolve that park.Guest satisfaction scores are largely a joke that are used to justify decisions already made.
It just is like the lunacy that no one liked the original EPCOT attractions ... sure, it was only the second or third most visited park on the planet, but no one liked WoM, Horizons, UoE etc. They like it better as a giant outdoor bar ...
Nothing like trading in 25-minute attractions for 2:50 ones, while Burbank is asking 'Can you cut another 20 seconds off that?'
Yes. 1987 saw the parks attendance peak. This "solution" to Epcot has resulted in the attendance peaking in 1997 (or 1987 as @marni1971) has suggested. Epcot 2.0 has failed to evolve that park.
Already spoiled myself since I won't be going to China anytime soon.

Yep. Someone once hinted on these boards that there could be an isolated mini-land added north of the MK as a new train stop with artificial snow. Just wondering is this was Frozen.
In any case, I support Frozen in WS as such adds are necessary to keep the crowds reasonable in the MK. And it is "thematically correct" enough for most. The only way BATB could fit in DHS is if they created a land dedicated to WDAS. I guess that is possible.
Sorry for the essay.
what do u know??!!?? LOLAnd hopefully it'll get a new build attraction it deserves in DHS or MK.
So Mickey is still on the table? Is Mickey green lit yet?SWL mid-ish 2019
Mickey early fall 2019
Rat early summer 2020.
At the moment (I shouldn't be anymore specific than that)
Yes. Budgeted and scheduled. Not that those of us picking dining for Halloween need to know such things. So Mickey is still on the table? Is Mickey green lit yet?
Wow! Big story!Yes. Budgeted and scheduled. Not that those of us picking dining for Halloween need to know such things.
I've been out of the loop for a while, what is this "Mickey" you are referencing?SWL mid-ish 2019

A Mickey LPS ride that will probably replace The Great Movie ride at Hollywood Studios.I've been out of the loop for a while, what is this "Mickey" you are referencing?
HUH! Interesting. Well, since Hollywood Studios (or whatever its new name will be) will be a completely different park, the movie part will be dated.A Mickey LPS ride that will probably replace The Great Movie ride at Hollywood Studios.
