Echo that MarniDid you take into account ride capacity? Did you take into account Fastpass plus? Park demographics? Is that how you came to "most popular?"
Swan Boats used to have a wait for them too.

No. E-ticket is not decided just by popularity although that is one factor. Popularity is not measured just by wait time either. A rides like HM or Pirates generally have less of a wait than Dumbo or Peter Pan or a Princess Meet and Greet but they are true E-tickets without any room for argument. Is the Safari at AK not an E-ticket because the lines are usually not very long? Ride capacity factors in. The number of people who ride those rides in a day exceeds TSMM even though the wait is less.I completely disagree about this E-ticket classification. If the three most popular attractions, TSMM, FEA & SDMT aren't E-tickets than something is wrong with the system. They may not be enclosed in a giant mountain but the masses choose to ride them over anything else in each park. They aren't my favorite attraction by any stretch, but I see the value they bring and as to why they are so popular. I have been highly critical of FEA but there is no doubt those animatronics are incredible. The ride system is old and terrible, no doubt, but one could argue the ride system for Spaceship earth to be old, noisy and rickety and many believe that to be an E-ticket.
That's history. Those tickets are long gone. The Es were the prices higher to recover the higher cost to build. In today's Disney the term E ticket is used to describe the scope and scale of the attraction with E being the highest and D being the next tier down.according to wiki ..
The phrase E ticket (or E ticket ride) refers to the admission ticket system used at the Disneyland and Magic Kingdom theme parks before 1982, where the E ticket (officially termed "E coupon") admitted the bearer to the newest, most advanced, and/or most popular rides and attractions.

Depends on who you ask. Due to the low capacity a lot of guests don't get to ride those rides. You can't honestly tell me that if we were to take a general survey of which ride the general public the 99.9% of the people that go to the parks, not the people on this board, that TSMM, FEA & SDMT would not come out on top?
Are you kidding me? People always have been running to Tot & RRC...Tell me how there is more theming in BTM

Of course FEA and SDMT do not have great hourly capacity. People aren't running to ride BTM in the morning. People aren't running to ride ToT or RnRC in the morning. We do know where they are running though. Again, I'm just asking what makes an E-ticket vs D-ticket and all I've got so far is hourly capacity and more theming.. Is Soarin not an E-ticket but Spaceship Earth is?

Maybe. Maybe not.You can't honestly tell me that if we were to take a general survey of which ride the general public the 99.9% of the people that go to the parks, not the people on this board, that TSMM, FEA & SDMT would not come out on top?
Maybe. Maybe not.
PotC has huge queues. So does SSE.
Popularity and/or queue time does not equal E ticket by itself. WDW Peter Pans Flight is not an E.
Avlands boat ride is sure to have long lines. But is a D.
The topic of ride classification has been discussed many times in the past. If you're interested try a thread search before this one derails any more.
Then perhaps take this discussion - and any answers to the replies you got above - to that thread to avoid more off topic postings. Got to keep these boards clean and all that.I did and it's interesting how people change their definition over time..

So now you know. Let's end it there.Well that is how we got to this discussion after all.. a poster was stating Rat was not E-ticket worthy so then I asked, what was an E-ticket...
My "new" rule for off-limits topics to talk to people - never talk to people about religion, politics or their definition of what an E ticket is. These are subjects everybody believes they are right on, will never truly listen when you don't agree with them, but most will say they are listening when you say that to them.So now you know. Oh, and saving space on a parade route. That's a hot button for sure.My "new" rule for off-limits topics to talk to people - never talk to people about religion, politics or their definition of what an E ticket is.
