Possible Attraction in France pavilion (Epcot) Update - new Attraction Greenlit

Well, the governments of the countries themselves have rarely been involved in Epcot Pavilions, it's more typically been companies from those countries. And while Greece's economy is in the crapper, there's surely some companies from there that could sponsor a pavilion (or parts of it) especially those that are involved in tourism and would benefit from having folks inspired to visit the country or buy products from there.

From a theme park fan prospective, an interesting question is whether Greece is too similar to other Epcot countries because there a number of "Western European" ones -- Greece is sort of a hybrid in that regard because it's often considered part of Western Europe (long time member of the EU and NATO with extensive trade relations) but based on location is also a crossroads location with Eastern Europe (old Communist countries) and the Middle East. I'd argue that Greece would be more of a variation than other European options that have been planned/considered like Spain, Switzerland or Denmark but I'd prefer something more unique to come like an actual Sub-Saharan African country, a Middle Eastern country or one from South America like Brazil or Argentina.

But, heck, I think we'd all just be happy simply to have a new country added.
I just think from a cultural aspect you can't beat Greece. From the food to the history, it would be an amazing entry. I know WS is already Europe-heavy, but like you said Greece's East-West crossroads status would differentiate it from the others. Plus imagine a Parthenon in Epcot. It would be awesome.

I've always thought Greece made the most sense for a new pavilion, but maybe not with their financial condition now.
I always though a Greek pavilion would be a good fit too, and a good excuse for a Hercules ride. Although I'm sure not everyone would love that, it'd be a good candidate for a high speed family attraction, which I think Epcot could use more of, plus it's not a gender specific a.k.a. "non princess" "girly" type of film. They seem to shy away from building any type of rides boys won't like

A Beauty and the Beast ride would probably depend on the popularity of the new live action film, I'm assuming a ride would be based on the animated version though right? but the Broadway show was also popular, and the animated film was nominated for a best picture Oscar, but that'd be another non gender specific Disney film to base a ride on... with plenty of merchandising potential, which I imagine also weighs in on deciding what gets built. And if they are going to start importing the trackless rides from the overseas parks, personally I'd rather see some version of Mystic Manor at Animal Kingdom, than Ratatouille in Epcot

How is the ratatouille ride in Paris? The little bit I saw looked like a bunch of large screens behind static props.

I wonder if there are any attractions lined up for World Showcase that have as much traction as the France pavilion proposals. Anyone have available insight to share?

Seriously guys. Super off topic, but go see La La Land.

was excellent seen it twice now..even felt the directors used or were fans of Disney's back in the day style. Dreamflight and Spaceship Earth came to mind. There was a scene that looked just like the one in the little Paris set from Dreamflight,,,and of course the planetarium scene is what made me think of Spaceship Earth.

If you have Greece, then you have a ready made IPs to make a ride out of: The Incredibles, Big Hero 6 and all the other super gyros.

For all the exciting routes Epcot could go, the Rat seems like a nice balancing act in World Showcase. I'd welcome it, but as a side story. If this is the crux of their big plans, it's a waste.

If we are to go down the IP route I want to see relevant, well thought through attractions for Inside Out, Big Hero 6 etc. World Showcase needs a few boosts for sure, but it's Future World where Epcots issues are most apparent.

I think if this happens to Epcot it would be a stunning revival:

World Showcase
France The rumored Ratatouille: L'Aventure Totalement Toquée de Rémy (170M)
The American Adventure New projectors, and slight refurbishment of the animatronics and theater. (20M)
Festival Kiosks Will be housed in new permanent structures that don't block views of IROE and are much nicer. They won't be used all year, but they would be a nice addition to have during most of the year with the festivals. (30M)

Future World
The Universe of Energy
The rumored Guardians of The Galaxy Coaster. (220M)
Wonders of Life Future Expansion plot/pad for the next attraction. (N.A.)
Mission: Space Major upgrades with a completely new film, and effects to help not cause motion sickness. (50M+)
Test Track Stays as is, but gets a small restaurant between Mission: Space and itself. (15M)

Imagination!
As a Phase II Epcot Overhaul, it will be demoed and restarted from scratch with a far better Figment & Dreamfinder attraction, and with new glass pyramids, a new DVC lounge, show, and restaurant. (300M+)
The Land Soarin' stays as is, Living With The Land gets an overhaul, and Circle of Life gets replaced, and interior gutted. (100M+)
The Seas Updates throughout giving it a much better theme with the main entrance now being the Gift Shop. Possible new attraction: a Kuka Arm Nemo Deep Sea Attraction, or a higher capacity version of Crush's Coaster. The Seas becomes the Seas again, but with the Nemo ip enhancing the story by having a smaller but important presence, not messing it up like it is currently. (200M+)

Spaceship Earth Along with the rest of Future World, the shops etc. around it will be updated. New buildings from under the ball to the Massive Fountain will keep the future consistent instead of a forest. SpaceShip Earth the ride gets MagicBand updates, and two more scenes while going backward. (For Spaceship Earth & surrounding area: 30M)
Innovations Major updates to the facades, and new attractions & restaurants will call the former Innovations and Future World its home. (300M+)

Park Entrance
Ease of access is a priority, with a streamlined futuristic non-graveyard look. Updates include the Monorail Station as well as the Bus Station. (100M+)

Total Cost: Upwards of 1.5 Billion
*This is not what's going to happen. This is purely speculation, guesses, and ideas to help bring the park back to its glory days in a realistic way.*

Could any Insider possibly confirm what pavilions will get additions currently?
