Possible Attraction in France pavilion (Epcot) Update - new Attraction Greenlit

Searing for "EPCOT Switzerland" on your search engine of choice should yield the page near the top of the results.
I have now read both proposals... That second one is somehow a mix of Mission Space, Rockin' Rollercoaster, Test Track, Space Mountain, AND the Matterhorn. WHAT?

Even the first one seems convoluted. Do we *need* a secret high tech facility that serves the Switzerland Olympic team to justify going bobsledding? I know modern Disney gets criticized for their overly complicated stories, but wow, it's not like its a new thing, apparently.

I actually would love to see Switzerland and the Matterhorn right next to Germany. Add some Apls to World Showcase.

Being realistic, I'd be pleased to see Mt Fuji added to the Japan pavilion (as in the picture @marni1971 shared) and using that to house a ride similar to DL's Matterhorn. A relatively modest roller coaster would be a good addition to WS/Epcot, Mt Fuji would add a wondering image to the pavilion and it would help to balance out things

The space between Italy and Germany would be fine for a Swiss pavilion, but I'd just as soon to see a more distinct pavilion that another Western European country. If we were going to get a brand new country.

For World Showcase, I would really like to see South Korea, Brazil, or Jamaica.
Australia would be better off in AK.

Australia would be a good fit in either Epcot or DAK, just completely different aspects of the country. Epcot Australia would be a more urban/human/cultural pavilion. An Australia land in DAK would be more nature and animal based.

Realistically, you could do both and have it make sense since they would show off different aspects. That said, I've argued that if they wanted to build an "Australia" land at DAK that they should call it "Oceania" which feels like a more all encompassing continental term.

And enter Moana.

Is a new country being considered? I got the impression from past threads that it was mostly expansions of current pavilions.

(I would love a new country so I'm holding out hope!!)

I'll let someone else take the limelight. Suffice to say within a decade WS could appear to be a lot "fuller".

Paging @Magic Feather :p

All this talk of another country in WS is so exciting!
All kiding aside, this is one of the projects I have to keep tightest lipped about. What I can say is that, of the pads that have been shown, it is on pad 4, 5, or 6. Said pavillion will have one major attraction. At least one pavillion will gain an attraction.

PS: Now that I think about it, in a weird, convulted, cryptic way, Fuller House does tie in a bit to the plan.

A Brazil pavilion would also give Disney to do what current Disney loves to do....throw a dance party.
That's what I said. The music would be great. The food would be wonderful. It would add a completely different atmosphere than anything else right now. I'd love it with or without a ride included. Hopefully someday! (Someday before I'm too old to dance!)

Scott Weinger being the voice of Aladdin in TV shows and video games, maybe? Good lord, are we getting another ill fitting attraction in a country it doesn't represent? i.e. Agrabah/Morocco

Well, Rat would have to go on 6, which would make France the "at least one pavilion" that gains the attraction.

That leaves 4 or 5 for the new country. I think 4 is the most likely space for the new country, with 5 being left for a possible Japan expansion (referring to the at least if Rat turns out to be the first of multiple pavilions gaining attractions). I say this because most proposals for that space have been related to Japan, whereas 4 was originally the Switzerland slot (I.e. a new country entirely).

Is it the kind of cryptic tie in that relates San Francisco - where Fuller House takes place -- to a weird, pseudo-hubrid San Fransokyo type place?

But I thought Japan already has a huge empty warehouse for a past opening attraction that never got built. Wouldn't that just be utilized if they're looking at expanding Japan?

The Japan SB isn't huge per-se, just big enough for Meet the World's Carousel theater (what was originally planned for Japan, not Fuji, Godzilla, or the Bullet Train). For more info see @marni1971 's amazing Japan pavillion video. Explains the situation better than I could ever.
