Brazil is a great option considering how different it is from all the other countries (culturally), considering that there are no South American countries currently represented, and considering how many people from Brazil already visit the park each year. The section would almost automatically lend itself to a mini Carnival style entertainment option. My biggest concern is how you represent the country architecturally. I mean (and no offense to anyone here who may be from Brazil or who has connections to Brazil), but I just can't picture what architectural style they would use that would be distinctly Brazilian. On top of that, probably the most recognizable icon of Brazil is the "Christ the Redeemer" statue in Rio
but would Disney recreate such a religious icon? (honestly, I don't know, I'm just asking... is there a precedent somewhere?)
Brazil has a lot of iconic architecture, and most of the styles would do a great job complementing the existing World Showcase pavilions. The capital Brasilia is home to some of the most iconic modernist architecture in the world, and Brazilian architect Oscar Niemeyer has lots of other similar-styled buildings throughout the country. Not-so-coincidentally, Brasilia was built right around the same time Walt was dreaming up EPCOT and the familiar Progress City images were created

Brazil's older cities have a mix of Portuguese colonial architecture and more contemporary buildings from the international style of design. This combination is pretty distinctive, and completely different from the other pavilions, which focus mainly on a single era of design

Additionally, the famous favelas are incredibly iconic, though I'm not sure if Disney really wants romanticized slums in the skyline of World Showcase

And of course, the famous mosaic sidewalks would be easily recreated in a theme park environment

Although most people struggle to come up with a notion of Brazilian architecture, there are plenty of iconic elements to choose from. Much of it is a lot more modern than the rest of World Showcase, but it would also do a lot to diversify the visual styles on the existing horizon. I would also expect that they would incorporate the natural landscape in some form, similar to the mountains in Canada or the beach in Mexico

Out of curiosity, does anyone know which country sends the most visitors to WDW that doesn't already have a pavilion?
Was that a trick question? lol The most visible group would be of course, The Brazilians... Does that mean it would be the one pavilion that is always ear shatteringly loud with yelling and chanting non-stop? We were in Prague last summer on the central city square, and then all this loud yelling and chanting...looked over...It was a large group of Brazilians chanting and dancing in circles...lol

In 2013, Brazil topped the UK for the first time (and the UK has had a pavilion since the beginning) with nearly 777,000 visitors. I'm not sure what the attendance has been in more recent years though, but if I had to guess, I'm sure Brazil has remained in the top 3 (I'm assuming that Canada is another top visitor).

Really, a Brazil pavilion is a no-brainer.

I could envision filling in the countries with items from Soarin around the world so Brazil, India & Australia and while we are at it -The Matterhorn borders Switzerland and Italy - why don't they build the "Italian" version of the Disneyland ride (to block the expansion "tower" of CBR)?

The site that cannot be named has pictures form the Swiss pavilion planning stages. The Matterhorn was like Test Track (not the biggest fan of some of the designs for the ride), so any plans to involve it would need to be changed.

That is true...there were rumors of it years ago...a whitewater rafting ride and mountains rising to cover the Soarin' theater from the World Showcase view...which would have been lovely... With EPCOT being actually designed for huge crowds, I aam surprised they have waited this long to even consider fleshing out the park... The park can certainly handle alot more people...as long as they build attractions.
I'd rather see that than a similar attraction in the MK where they get rid of Tom Sawyer's Island and the riverboats to accomplish it.

A few pages back during a summary, it was mentioned that Disney still would require a country to sponsor/fund a pavilion. Is this true? I thought this was a myth with the exception of Morocco - in a way??? If true, Brazil is going through a very bad economic crisis so them finding and giving Disney money would probably be the last thing on their list. I respect the culture but I'd rather see one of the other suggested countries like Switzerland, India, Greece....etc. Also, perhaps to a lesser degree RIO (the blue bird movie) may have some conflicts with Disney.
