The queue itself won't be that long.
So, open promenade to guests along the water, then turn the corner into a covered queue?

Still makes little sense to me. Seems it could go directly behind thereby saving that pad for another country. If that isn't possible it is little wonder they were considering utilizing the theater space.

It is considered an E-ticket. And the consensus is pretty divided. Some really like it a lot, some think it is nothing special. Spider-Man is a decent comparison, but this is a whole lot tamer.

Are we sure the exit queue would go back to the start on the west side of the pavilion? It seems like it could be relatively easy to have the exit dump you into the merch shop in France.

But it's clear that they aren't interested in adding a lot of new countries, so it's much easier to use the large open space then to try to squeeze is into the area behind the pavilion. We also don't know the exact path of the gondola, it's possible that will be to close or even through that area. Here is the Paris Rat building minus the front restaurant portion overlaid on Epcot. It may have just been to tight to build along with the associated access roads and other infrastructure.

They shouldn't just be thinking in terms of a few years. What if they decided to add more countries a decade from now?
I see what you are saying about the gondola but why not shift the building just far enough?
Why not just enough necessary? Why all the way on to the unused pad?
These choices seem out of character from recent strategic decisions. IMO.
Well there you go.
Even with the long term plans for the other 4 empty pads, World Showplace is easily removable and the Frozen M&G is expendable.
Not my words.
