Do you make time for Universal/Sea World on your trip to WDW?

Is it to expensive to head across town?

We haven't paid for admission to Universal in 10 years, Sea World in 20 (I have gotten free press passes though a few years ago).

We would love to go back, but it is a $300+ day to go (tix, parking, food). I can't EVER see it being worth an addtional 20-25% of what my whole 10 day trip to WDW would be worth to add the day. Even worse for two. Magic Your Way is really working for me.

But -- if they slashed the prices of tickets to 1/2 what they are now, that's a whole other story. If prices for Sea World/Universal/IOA were only $33, would you be much more likely to go? Would you hit more than one of these places that clearly scares you away now with their steep pricing?

I might even concider hitting all 3 on a trip at those rates. But a 3 side days now would be close to the cost of my trip almost. Plus these prices don't include the lodging that I'm already getting from my Disney trip.

I am a HUGE fan of SeaWorld and no matter the cost I will always make time for 1 - 2 visits to SW during my Disney vacation! :D

Sea World just doesn't do it for me even though I do get 50% off admission for being a Travel Agent - we always make time to go across to Universal (and would still do if I had to pay to get in there - again comp tix for being a travel agent)

Haven't been to SeaWorld in years....not something that I would go out of my way to visit....Universal didn't impress me at all the one time I went, it could have changed, but another park that I wouldn't go out of my way to visit. IOA, I would do whatever it took to hit this park.....being a coaster fanantic, its a must see when I go to Orlando.

The only reason I goto Orlando is for Disney World. I want to be brought to a fantasy land with all my favorite cartoons and characters. Its the only place i can go and feel like i am 8 again.

Well, I like Universal and IOA, don't care about Sea World. But I only go to those parks when my aunt (who's a travel agent) get me free tickets. I don't pay for them, only for WDW.

The last time I went to Orlando with my whole family, we had 5 teenagers in the group, so we stopped by Universal Studios and IOA to get in our roller coaster fix and because we hadn't been to Universal in about 10 years

But we definitely don't go to Universal every trip and spend a lot more time at Disney World.

I used to love SeaWorld when I was younger but I was there last year and it was just okay. The staff was kind of unpleasant so maybe that put me off. The shows are still great though.

Universal Studios and Islands of Adv are fun but they just don't have the replay value for me.

Last trip, we spent about 3/4 of a day in USO. We did everything that was open, AND participated in an hour-long TV survey (and got paid $15 each. Free lunch.) Then we went to Cirque.

Next trip, we'll probably do the same thing, but with IoA. And maybe Harry Potter will be open by then :animwink:

I always go to Disney for a week. You guys know how things are now--if I am going to be in Orlando for a given day anyway, I can pay about $3 more and get to spend that day in the Theme Parks, Water Parks, Downtown Disney, or Disney Quest. Or I can pay a small fortune for Mears to drive me to Universal or Sea World and then pay $67 to get in. It just doesn't make sense to me, especially when there is so much to do at WDW. It was an easier sell when I went to Disneyland for 8 days, which is why we spent a day at Knott's and a day at Universal in Hollywood.

If you have a disability you get into Sea World for 1/2 price!

That's right you get a medical discount. They also let my wife in for the same price when she accompanies me :D , so that's 2 for the price of 1.

Eww!

People are recommending SeaWorld - gross!

The place smells, is tiny, has a horrible layout, and the animals look so sad. In its hey-day, Seaorld was neat. Now it's sort of run down and falling apart. The penguin area is a mess that we'd never tolerate from Disney (it looks the same as it has since Epcot opened - and like it never got refurbed) and the shark tank with the tunnel is pretty much a joke.

No SeaWorld, eww eww eww.

500 people shoving their hands into a tank full of stingrays that are trying to get away.

IOA and Universal are worth a glance, but SeaWold is a mess.

SeaWorld "stage shows" are a joke too. The props and costumes are visibly worn. The set pieces were falling apart. They claim one is like Cirque du Soleil. Yeah, if Cirque was done by community theatre as a joke.

And the food! The food is disgusting and there's maybe 3 places to eat - including counter service - in the entire park!

Heading for the great escape.
We go to USF & IOA for a few days every trip, normaly we spend three nights at Universal resort.

Sea World we visit every three years or so, Kraken is one of my favourite coasters.

Busch Gardens and Discovery Cove are a rare visit, and we havent been to Wet N Wild since 2000.

We really like US and IOA! But, you have to stay in one of their hotels to make it worth your while. There is nothing better than going to the front of all the lines. It's awsome. Plus, the hotels (Royal Pacific, Hard Rock, Portofino Bay) are really, really nice. However, Disney is always head and shoulders above and is our favorite!:animwink:

If you go during a slow period, the lines (even for Spiderman) are like 10mins or less. I was shocked too, but it does make the front-of-the-line perk a little less exciting.
