Plan C for Pleasure Island

I wish you people would just behave. Your bickering is so trivial and childish. Every discussion starts out well, then seems to get heated, and then deteriorates into an argument with insults, snide remarks, vulgarity, and name calling. One of you just has to poke, and then a couple poke back, and the next thing I know my mailbox is full of complaints. Usually from both sides of the argument. ;)

Just like overdone displays of public affection, it's fun for the participants, but just makes everyone else around them uncomfortable. Get a room, or in this case, please go someplace else to continue your seemingly endless battle.

To my own (and others) defense...many of us were debating with sound base and supportive claims and information.

When are you distributing our patches?

I shall probably leave this thread now. :D

It won't be forever.

What Raven said is true. As if I need to vouch for said member of course. Plans have and are changing a lot still, but many things are being seriously considered including all of those points.

I did upload a plan a while back of the alternate downtown layout should PI have been kept. They took the cheap and easy route and looked what happened. Back then main parking would have been outside Team Disney with an aerial fixed link to DTD. Now it seems any structure will be north of BVD, although most of the surface parking south of today's Marketplace and PI is destined to be developed.

I wish what Raven said will come true. I have faith since he is a rational member of this group. One can be positive about the future

just wondering why you seem to have so much inside information but you only confirm such after someone like Raven or Steve or some other insider has posted a rumor. Yet you never post any hint of a rumor beforehand.

Not entirely true. I think he posted that there will be an announcement about Hyperion Wharf before the disney shareholder meeting next week. No one else said that first. We'll know soon if it comes true.

I mainly ask since i have known or met a lot of people for Nola who leave during Mardi Gras because they dont want their kids around there. I had guests tell me that when i worked at Disney and the hotel i work at up here in Chicago. But thank you for telling me something i did not know

Yes, I know a lot of familys that leave during the last week of Mardi Gras since most schools get atleast 3 days off, some the whole week. For some reason a lot of locals feel think its just a big dirty city wide party but thats not really the case as long as you go to the right spots and not in the French Quarter. You would think people from here would know this but amazingly a lot don't.

Once in a while there are people in ECV's and unfortunately they need to be. Problem is many people are just so huge of their own doing that they need a ECV. Pretty easy to tell the difference. My personal favorite is the kids on leashes because their parents can't run them down if they escape. Is that what is going on all the time with the leashes??? No but it's a norm.

Never used an ECV. Never put my kid on a leash. And I agree with you that some people using an ECV are doing it because they are lazy or overweight of their own doing, and some people using those kid leashes are doing it because they would rather not have to pay close attention to their kids.

But I think you jump too far in concluding that those are the majorities in either group. WDW is a happy place -- it's nice to give people the benefit of the doubt.

I think it is almost always the case that those debating have bases, information and supportive points. It's just a matter of whether they ALSO employ insults, personal attacks, vulgarity, name calling, etc. Just because there is substance behind a person's views doesn't make it OK to espouse those views in a childish and disrespectful manner.

If it turns out to be true I will never have another negative thing to say about him.

just wondering why you seem to have so much inside information but you only confirm such after someone like Raven or Steve or some other insider has posted a rumor. Yet you never post any hint of a rumor beforehand. In fact it is just the opposite as you usually only seem to hint at cut-backs and the lack of investment at WDW going forward. Your ho-hum attitude when something major gets talked about after it so clearly contradicts so much of what you say about TDO is always telling.

I am definitely not trying to start a flame war, especially with The Mom in the room :lookaroun::animwink:, but there is something in the manner you write and the way you present yourself that grates in its' contadictions. It is as if you try too hard to prove your 'insiderness' and a need to feel superior to others.

As for the examples you mention, it seems as though TWDC truly thought the "recovery" formula would work in the face of decades and decades of economic lessons around the globe. Many people drank that kool-aid (shout out to ""Enigma" here) including many corporations -- not just TWDC. But pipe dreams and propaganda are only for show. And so projects got canceled that were planned to take advantage of the theorized recovery that never could occur.

Now don't you have somewhere overseas to go? I think I hear mickey calling

PS- TDO can't defend themselves here and it is not my intention to do so. They have 'people' for that. I just hope this post does not get deleted because it is purely intended to provide some balance to all the 'bah-humbugism' that is allowed to take place here. Nothing more, nothing less.

Awe ... JT is back ... and still such a hoot. Still have that mancrush on me ... you'll have to get in line. Lots of pretty fanbois (and even a few hotties of the female persuasion) are in the queue ahead of you ... but you can enjoy the interactive toys that WDI installed to keep you entertained.

Like I said, you, boy, you are a HOOT!

Just to be clear, I did not say that.

I did say from the beginning that Avatarland was unlikely to happen.

I did say that Jaws was going away and that Potter was going to be in two parks and connected by the Hogwarts Express when people said I was nuts (although they always say that, especially family and close friends!)

I did say that DVC was coming to the GF, Poly, site of RC, Buena Vista drive and, possibly, EPCOT itself.

And I've been breaking 'inside stuff' online (not here) dating back to the late 90s (remember no FB, Twitter, iPhones etc) when fanbois were talking about Fire Mountain coming to the MK when I knew Horizons was being demo'd for Mission Space because both the EPCOT VP and a pair of high level Imagineers told me so.

Sometimes, the timing is off because Disney changes it ... like when I said a new MK parade was coming in 2012 to celebrate the Fanatasyland project. Turns out, it's coming in 2013.

I also was the first to tell the fan community things such as EPCOT's wand coming down (no one here wanted to buy that one!) ... but that's not my purpose here. I'd rather be right, then be first.

I try and put stuff out when I can vet it, so my online fans such as that old hoot (Frank in New Mexico) have less to attack me over.

~Not perfect, but perfectly OK with that~

it's important to note that Ravens information (while 100% accurate as usual) is mostly blue sky stuff...

Way past the Blue Sky stage on this. Blue Sky is a simple concept. If it's rejected it goes away and is filed. If it is accepted, they start working on many different versions. I've seen over 30 versions of the DTD redo.

^^THIS^^ ... and the "unique transportation" that Raven mentioned. I'm hoping for People Movers or at least something similar.

Nope, not a People Mover. :animwink:

Good lord, I love it when you chime in with these little tidbits. Almost like the ultimate hit and run.

Thank you! I'm not on here as much as I would like to be anymore. But when I see something that I can comment on then I will chime in...then run.

Yes. A lot of things are planned ... in one manner of the other. And much of what raven is saying I've seen proof of or heard from others I trust. ... But I don't buy for a second that any of it is going to happen in the near future (like next 3-4-5 years).

It won't be forever.

Very true. I don't know the time frame for this project but they are working out every detail as much as they can. This is why construction on Hyperion Warf stopped. It isn't just the West Side that will change. They are now looking at the entire DTD area (including Saratoga Springs Resort) to tie everything together. When all is said and done, though many years away, it's going to be huge!

Close...but he left out the "World of Color Lite" in the parking lot part.

Yep, I did but haven't seen much on that lately. Doesn't mean it's out off the table though.

Two items that I mentioned are consistant in all of the concepts: structured parking and the new exit off of I4. This exit should releave a lot of tourist raffic on 535. The new exit is planned between TDO and Typhoon Lagoon.

They're not thinking some sort of trolley system, are they?

Any idea when they may announce these changes? Or are they still getting the details aligned first?

That would do a lot to alleviate some of the congestion on arguably the worst road in Orlando. I assume it would then feed into entrance 4, currently the least used DTD entrance? Any connection to the rumored plans to route all DHS traffic to the main entrance?

Not everyone though you were nuts... I knew why I took a last ride on Jaws last September ;)

And I thought I broke the news about the wand? :D Or put another way... Track records are good should one need to prove it.

BTW... What happened to our new member here? Has he been avenged? I take one GMT induced sleep and someone's suddenly conspicuous by their absence.
