Actually i have...but hey i forgot you guys bemoan the fact that DTD is a giant mall yet you want it to be a giant bar scene like you can get in any city in the country. Sorry i dont drink the kool-aid and i am smart enough to remember even as a kid walking past PI and sensing it is nothing more than Rush St. in Downtown Chicago or my older brother going there in the 90s and saying the same exact thing...silly me using logic

Gosh, you remind me a lot of someone who used to post on here, also from Chicago, named bullsforthewin. Any relation?

That said, PI was supposed to be a party district. So it was what it was. And the only people there were people who wanted to be there and had paid to be there. It didn't bother anyone.

Nope, he's still around but got really quiet after the mods jumped him in the UNI thread...

Could be him, could be a number of people. Could be his own nature as well....

A few nightlife options such as the clubs never hurt anyone, protestations aside.

The current DTD is about only 1/3 of the size it will be when all is said and done. Many ideas and mappings have been worked over for the last few years to work out the specifics and details and they are still changing (which is why Hyperion Warf delayed construction). When all is said and done, expect a new DTD entrance ramp off I4, unique transportation, a blow-up of the current WoD, possible nightime entertainment, structured parking and several retail offerings from around the world.

WOW! :sohappy:

it's important to note that Ravens information (while 100% accurate as usual) is mostly blue sky stuff... not to say it won't happen.. but it may not happen this decade.

Whether it is all true or not there's only one I'm highly interested in... parking structures. :sohappy:

Seriously! Parking at DTD has become quite an adventure. I'm always amazed when I go and have difficulty finding a space. All these people coming out to eat and shop. It's amazing.

Just imagine what that area could be if it was done right.

I have little doubt this is part of the reason they are going slow. There are times of the year they have trouble handling the crowds even as things are now, and I am 100% certain that third party tenants voice their concerns quite clearly. Unfortunately it is too easy for some here to use the situation for their own agenda and use it to complain even though there is a need to go slow.

It is just that I am never sure if it is a case of wilful ignorance on the part of some on these boards or a true inability to see the big picture. Either way, it plays bad for those doing the carping.

I'd love for them to do anything productive with PI at this point, just like you would. But c'mon Jt, don't insert your hopes as truth.

Besides, Disney didn't decide to keep PI empty because of crowds...They did it because the gangs and drunk driving. :D:lookaroun

So, according to some, PI was closed (in part) due to rampant drinking, and incidents relating to the consumption of too much alcohol.

So, now Disney wants to re-theme the area in alignment with an event often characterized by......

This tickled me. Well done indeed sir, well done indeed!

Oh yeah that is totally the case...god honestly it is sad that if you dont drink the PI Kool-aid then you are just a troll. Go ahead doom and gloomer, post away while i will use my brain.....

This reply has set off alarms for me. Wasn't there a member who was banned a couple of months ago who said literally the exact same things as this? I mean, word for word exactly the same.

That's it! Bullsforthewin was EXACTLY who I was thinking of! They weren't banned, but they calmed down after getting a stern warning. I have no doubt this is the same person.

So what's the chance there's some fancy Blue Sky blueprints or concept art to show your pals here at WDWMAGIC?? :D ...because a parking structure and transportation sounds like a good idea. oh and the rest of that stuff is cool too I guess.:sohappy:
