Pizza Planet.....

I'm wondering if others out there were disappointed when they went to Pizza Planet and realized it looked nothing like the one in the movie? Although, I should probably tell you we've only been once back in '05. Has it changed since then? If not, I really think Disney should redo that place and make it as close the the PP in the TS movies. Thoughts?

We were disappointed, it's sort of a missed opportunity. We were also really disappointed with the quality of the food. It used to be on par w/ Pizza Hut. We went for the first time in years this past December and it was like over-done Boboli pizza. Not that pizza hut is so great, but as far as chain pizza outside of NY goes it was ok. This was so NOT good.

I adore Pizza Planet, but mostly out of the fact that we have been going there several times each trip since 1998 when my son was just 3. (He is 15 now) It is a family tradition and we even sit at the same table each trip. Could the food be better? Maybe.. could there be better theming.. maybe. But my kids have never once complained and if we don't eat lunch there evey day we are at DHS they are ticked and to be honest I would be too. :animwink:

I've been there several times over the years and I know what to expect, but this past visit I brought a first-timer and he was VERY disappointed in the lack of theming. At the very least they should have 'The CLAW'- Who doesn't love those adorable little aliens? If they put that machine in and actually filled it with the aliens from the movies, I bet almost everyone who went in there would give it a try!

^ actually they have several claw machines filled with various Disney & other plush toys. I have an Alien and Woody that my DS won me there.

Yes that's true, but they don't have THE claw machine- the rocket shaped one filled with the little green aliens as in the movie

It has all the arcade games and serves pizza. I'm not sure what else they can do - I mean, sure, they can do the fun entrance and the space slime machine, but it is already crazy in there. On a purely food note - this is one of our fave places at DHS. We go every trip. Maybe they'll do something more since TS3 is coming out?

It isn't shaped like a rocket but it does have the little green aliens in one of them. Maybe my kids and myself are easy to please but they have always loved it and all these years later it is the one place we have to eat and play at at least 3-4 times a trip.

Same pizza that is sold at all other sites (except for Boardwalk and soon to Italy)

We are in the same boat! M & M were little when we started going to PP and it, along with CRT and Le Cellier are part of our tradition too. Know the feelin there!

We hit PP every trip too! We still like to food and still play a game or two while there.
OMG -- a three year old thread being dragged up again?....
Yep...that empty place in my heart has been filled again! Hopefully it won't take another three years.

To say the least it was so loud and crowded didn't even stay for lunch. That being said I'm gonna give it another try who knows?

It would be awesome is they made it more like the PP in TS and made it character dining. That way not long lines to meet Buzz & Woody!

I've never been since I can't eat pizza. :( Fo they have pasta or other non-bread items? If so, I might have to check it out!

I think it's fine for what it is but I'm probably just used to it. I feel like if they made it like it was in the movie, it would become a destination restaurant instead of a "quick in and out" and therefore, they wouldn't have enough turnover.

My biggest complaint is the crowds. It always seems to be packed when we go, which does but a damper on things. However, the pizza is actually pretty good.
