Pizza Delivery flyers in your resort room

Flippers is a nice option - there's also a location at Crossroads and on 192 in the Target shopping center by the 429. They don't deliver to all the resorts though, some are out of their range (BLT/Contemporary was as of 2 years ago, they might go there now). We live locally and go there often - they have a pretty good lunch special too.

Anyone have a picture of said flyer?
This is the one that was in my room at AS Music back in December. I took pictures because I was amused by the rant about big, bad Disney keeping the little guys down. Of course, I had no intention of ordering from them, but I also had no idea it was a scam.

I thought everybody knew these were a scam. A quick google or yelp search will pretty much tell you if a place is a scam.

So I searched the address on that pizza menu and it is the Howard Johnson in Kissimmee. lol

Also, I found this video about this scam, showing the same flyer, but without the rant on the side and the address. The news report made a point about them never including an address on the fake menus, so I guess they learned from that.

I love how it explicitly says "We DO NOT steal Credit Cards"... lol.

Over the past three or four years we've had dozens of those flyers pushed underneath our room doors, sometimes more than one a day. The first few times we handed them it at the front desk and were told every time that it was a well-known problem that was an issue at several hotels in the resort and that Disney were dealing with it.

I haven't noticed the "tourist beware" part before though, we had a few flyers put through our door last September/October and can't remember reading that. To me that would be more of a warning signal than anything else if I didn't already strongly suspect that this was a scam, they're almost trying too hard.

Flippers and Giordanos good options for Pizza, If I get flyers I simply bring them to the front desk, Most of the flyer distributors have been trespassed so the OC Sheriff is actually interested in busting them.

Correct me if I'm wrong, but in the past whenever I ordered out from a resort I always had to go to the front desk to meet the delivery person and pick the food up as Disney wouldn't allow them to bring it to my room... Supposedly it was for security but I suspect it was more to make the process a hassle to entice visitors to order room service instead.
I havent ever ordered from an offsite establishment but I would think for security purposes that they would not send a delivery person into a resort area. I'm sure people going to the main building/ Front Desk area would be fine. Marie

and the address is an howard johnson...

It should be pointed out that you cannot rely upon Google maps/street view (or similar sources) to determine if a place is legitimate or not, because the map locations are too often (and sometimes humorously) incorrect. The nearest Target store where I live Google thinks is in an open field. I was looking for an unfamiliar bank branch the other day - and found it 3 miles from where the map showed.

Certainly not saying the above example brochure, or any other in-room flyer, isn't a scam, just please don't use a Google search to determine if the place is legit.

No. You are talking about google maps which does often put the little marker in the wrong place. But this address itself IS the Howard Johnson. Regular old google will tell you that and bring you right to their website where it says so.

I don't think you read the first post. The issue is that these aren't actually pizza companies, but instead people trying to get your CC number to commit fraud. Stopping the non-existent pizza isn't the goal.
Having worked in multiple Orlandp hotels I can say that those cases are rare. Most of these flyers are local mom and pop places trying to increase sales to compete with the Pizza Hut, Papa Johns and Flippers.

Yeah this one is a definite scam. Google search 'Two Italians Pizza Delivery' and all you get is media reports about fake pizza services in tourist areas like this one:

It is common at a lot of higher end hotels. They're not at all paying attention and nothing would stop drivers from going to the room. It is all about making it difficult for their customers. It was always such a hassle in days past having to describe the ridiculous process of getting a delivery to someone paying a lot of money to stay at a nice hotel. My favorite though was the one time when the front desk called the room and the guy stood there silent for a few moments, followed by "He'll be right up, ma'am." Even better was the nice tip I got for having to put up with such nonsense.

I can't believe that surveillance cameras don't catch these guys if it is such a well-known problem.

When staying at a hotel and ordering in I'm always on Yelp instead of trusting flyers or even menus the front desk gives out. Just because I'm staying in doesn't mean I don't want good food!
