Pizza Delivery flyers in your resort room

Let us also not forget that most of Disney's resorts have open hallways. Adding this level of security would do nothing for most of Disney's resorts.

Because you don't implement half of something :) When you card key the elevators... you obviously give up open hallways and doors are setup to allow access into stairwells, but not out of them except to fire exits. This is standard design in residential and commercial spaces. It's nothing shocking if Disney were to use it... but I highly doubt Disney is motivated enough to tackle this. Especially when security cameras and observation can mitigate the specific problem.

Sounds like it is more about the scam than the actual orders. Plus with the transportation system, any guy could waltz in the door with a backpack full of flyers and not draw any attention.
Not at RPR anyway. I mean it has happened in the past, but the flyer guys that I see all the time are actually with legit businesses. Now that I think about it I haven't seen a pizza flyer on the hallway floor in the rooms in a while.

Or just park at Downtown Disney and use the transportation system to bounce from resort to resort.
And of course you can just drive up to any of the resorts and say you're eating/shopping there, even with a big backpack in your backseat. I do it all the time... but I'm actually eating/shopping there.

Are you being serious or just naive?

I'm always sort of amazed when this comes up at how many people find it hard to believe that there are actually local pizza places. It seems like to a good many in the world pizza starts and ends with the big chains like Pizza Hut, Dominos and Papa John's. It makes me sad that so many are stuck in a world of gross pizza. :(
I am not doubting that there are local pizza places. I am doubting that those putting flyers under hotel room doors are working for a legitimate business. I find it hard to believe that the Royal Pacific Resort or any Disney resort would allow this. Someone started this thread to warn travelers of a scam and Scuttle is telling readers that some of these are legitimate. I am in Disney hotels about once a month and almost always receive a flyer from 2 Italians and they are not legitimate. It is a scam.

The scam works so well because it is so common among real businesses.

All the flyer under the door places are a scam. Every. Single. One. Even if you get one of those places to actually bring you food, what they bring you is cheap frozen grocery store pizza they are trying to pass off as authentic. Google is your friend folks.

Had one slipped under my door. I opened the door to find a man dressed in a hat and sunglasses carrying a Disney merchandise bag. I said, "What you're doing is illegal and he better leave because he's been reported." He played dumb but left pretty quickly.

If you find a flyer report it to the front desk. Last time we did that they had cops stop by our room to ask questions.

If I did that, I'd spend my entire trip on the phone to the desk. We get them by the folder full.

I wonder what they say if you say your paying in cash? We ordered pizza and wings to be delivered to our room once (from a number we got at front desk) and the food was so horrible, it should be a crime for them to continue serving it to people. We found Uno Pizzeria last visit, its now a must-do on day one for us.

Give Giordanno's a try just up the road a bit. Best deep dish ever. They'll deliver, or if you want to in, call ahead and order before your arrive. They take about 40 minutes to make/cook, so you can get a jump on the wait.

That's a good tip - I love Giordanno's but always associated them with being a sit-down meal, never thought of ordering it to the room.

Their delivery service is better than Flippers as Flippers does delivery to WDW out of multiple stores so ETA can be anywhere from 20 minutes to 90.
