Rumor Pixar's Coco coming to the Mexico Pavilion

I rode grand fiesta a couple of nights back and through the whole thing was really dated. From the look of the ride itself, to the filmed sections on the screens, it all looked very “80’s”. I’d be happy with a coco overlay to bring it up to date. Plus the film looked gorgeous, lots of great scenes/art to copy onto the ride.
I'm not sure I understand this, the ride seems to be timeless to me.

Are there any specific elements you can identify as clearly "1980s"?

Interesting. I did not know that
Yes. The show building in Japan is complete, albeit adapted and temporarily partitioned for construction work. But it’s still one vast, complete and easily usable internal space. All it’s missing structural wise is it’s planned upper show floor and entry bridge out front.

Germanys ride only has its front part (the queue and load area) actually built, and was properly segregated into kitchens and offices with permenant walls.

Finally saw “Coco” tonight and ugly cried and not ashamed to admit it.

An overlay of this IP to the Mexico pavilion would be appropriate, but I’m also torn. I know people complain that the Three Caballeros aren’t culturally relevant but their theme song that’s played in the ride is a crib on the classic Mexican song “Ay, Jalisco, No Te Rajes.” It’s one of my favorites. Ergo I’m torn to see it changed...

And as others have said, Japan needs something darn it!

LOL I just saw it last night! It was a fantastic movie and in my opinion, so much better than Inside Out or Zootopia. I also thought the same about Up and I saw that a few weeks ago. I wish Pixar Pier at DL had Up and Coco.

Are there blueprints of what might have gone into the different spaces?

I couldn't sleep one night last week and was up at 3:30am. I decided to watch Coco. My mother passed away at the end of March at the age of 81 after a couple of years of slow decline. Needless to say, my blubbering toward the end sped right past ugly and went straight to inconsolable and snotty. It was really great, but I don't think I'm going to watch it again for a bit. I'm glad I was the only one up.

Like many on here, I just watched it for the first time. For the last 10 minutes my wife and I were inconsolable. Of course my daughter (being 3.5) only wants to watch it now, but knowing what's coming am able to control myself a little more.

I just love the story it tells and it really puts the Day of the Dead into perspective. I never would've thought of it that way before, and couldn't help but feel some disappointment if the chance of it going into Mexico really are gone.

Sorry for your loss. A few days after my childhood dog of 15 years had passed I watched Frankenweenie for the first time. I sobbed through the first half, yet it was somewhat therapeutic.
