Well, when someone has a proven track record, people tend to believe them.

See...you don’t get my piece.

It’s not about “trusting the source” it’s about money and power (which is all about money)

The dreaded “plans change” and “seems to be delayed” always hits at the same time: when they can scale back after the covering fire of new construction is swinging...raise prices and ease off the stick.

Just Always happens that way...and it is a bummer.

Lol...San angel actually has some semi-authentic food...

Do you want chipotle?
I don't know. They do make a stab at being authentic, but I think considering how much access to good Mexican food in the US has improved since Epcot opened this place has fallen behind. Particularly when you consider it is owned by the same people who run the historic and very good San Angel Inn restaurant in Mexico City where you can get all sorts of good stuff. I had a fantastic appetiser of escamoles (look them up!) there last October!

It's in Walt Disney World, where the vast majority prefer burgers and chicken tenders. I mean, people fly all over the world to various Disney parks and I see pics of a burger and chicken tenders ... many people aren't "adventurous" eaters. Meaning we're lucky to get what we get ... menus at their core, even the more unique ones, are ultimately made bland because people prefer the familiar. Society as a whole just seems so against change ... but that's another rant for another day.

So, we get a bland Mexican inspired menu instead of truly authentic offerings.

If you’re saying it needs a refresh...I can see that.

I’m just saying it’s actually of decent quality...and there is FAR worse in Epcot needing it more.

I’ve made this point many times on many fields before...but I always get in trouble for no icing on top.

So I’ll just say: I agree 😎

For the few people that like authentic ethnic foods, I still want a choice to substitute for bland ingredients and spices. Sometimes the taste buds don’t often work when traveling and one person’s preferences can be different from another. Disney can’t waste food that doesn’t work. That’s why I usually order the hamburgers and fries because I prefer to not take a chance with terrible ethnic foods that you already know is prepared by Disney. As for Mexican foods, I hate beans and rice so I know it’s already a miss.

The problem with your theory is a lot of the “safe” foods are pretty terrible quality too...I get your point though

More adventurous also doesn't have to mean 'ethnic' and 'spices' ...

I've never been picky about food. I know many are but it must be pretty hard to be so picky.

The burgers and tenders are 'ok'. We think because we're Disney fans that we're also food critics ... lol

Lots of people like chef mickeys and akershus online...and say yachtsmans is “fantastic”...

So it’s all wide field of criteria...it seems
Granted, I haven't eaten there in a *long* time, but I remember Yachtsman's as being really good. Although San Angel Inn I remember being good as well, and this last visit it was somewhat meh.

I ate there when I was at Epcot a couple of weeks ago. The recipes were good and flavoring was good, but the quality of the meats they used wasn't the best. A little too fatty, not tender enough... It doesn't need much, just some higher quality ingredients...

I think I can agree with that...but Its not really about “the meat” in Mexican restaurants
