Rumor Pixar's Coco coming to the Mexico Pavilion

I'm about as cynical as they come when it comes to modern WDW, so I really have no idea what you're trying to say here. Even my avatar is cynical.
I've also "BEEN AROUND" basically since this version of the site was launched aaaaalllll the way back in 2001, so I'm well aware of how this works. It's you that seems to not be.

All I know is your general MO seems to be saying that you don't have a problem with the insiders, but then turning right around and saying that you don't believe anything that they say.

.

I pre-date you...not just as on forums such as this...but in management and analysis with a company you might have heard of (though I never posted anything back then or for years after)

Seen it, heard it, done it. Not what would be an "insider" position...but loose lips sunk all the imagineering ships...or to be more honest: the accountants do. The higher ups let the dreamers have their fantasies...the amount of reality is a closely held secret. Just experience.

The bold part is completely false. People always see more of honestly less than what I'm typing. It's happened before.

I'm not nor ever said "don't believe anyone"...far from it. I'm saying study the history - and frankly the money - and develop a sense for what is close to "grounded"
And what is way more up in the "blue sky"

If you don't...all rumors end up being screamscapian in nature. At least based on the responses on the board.

The rest of what you wrote is tied up in semantics or tone...so I don't think we have a quibble. What you say is all that matters...how you say it is diversionary.

Yes. I was looking at the blueprints for it again last fall and can’t help think it was a huge missed opportunity.

That's basically the "lost city of Atlantis" for the late Eisner imagineering period, no?

It was speculated so much around the web that it became kinda like the Thunder Mesa of its day?

But I'm new here...only been 4 months...so maybe I hit my head or something? 😎

I think the speculation placed it (Door Coaster) on a higher plateau than it ever was. A solid D, not the second coming.

I doubt it but it doesn’t seem to want to totally die. It popped up again before TSL and again for DCA.

It's been a rumor for as long as I've been a WDW fanboy at least, and that's since the early days of Inside the Magic. Though if you subscribe to the Jim Hill rumors, Monsters Inc. might be popping up in DHS, but that's also been talked about for as long as I can remember.

That last bit intrigues me the most. Any idea where this Mysterious Island complex would have gone at DAK?

Tokyo disney sea was lauded heavily internally in the early 2000s...probably because it was the only Park built 1995-2005 that we'd applauded from the start and didn't have major issues.

But they paid almost none of the bill...it was imagineering at play...pure kismet.

I think that's why TDS rides and lands persisted in rumors for so long...if I had been around back then 😉

...close to 20 years...kinda like pavilions in Epcot

It should still be lauded internally, look at the detail in that park! It’s beautiful.

That wouldn't be the right IP to pursue in the current climate, don't you think?

It's a popular enough IP they made a successful sequel, Mike and Sulley keep selling merchandise, and Disney felt it was worth including in the upcoming Kingdom Hearts game, which seems to only be incorporating current, relevant, Disney-synergy-approved movies this time around. (Frozen, Tangled, Big Hero 6, Toy Story etc.) But i'm bias, I want the door coaster and I'll keep deluding myself that the IP is worth it until it happens.
