Personally, if i HAD to pick one or the other, my vote is for UK...the problem is we shouldn't HAVE to pick one or the other...
Currently on paper, Mexico has an attraction. UK doesn’t. I rarely stick up for recent decisions but to a normal person which makes sense more?
Indeed. There's a ride in Mexico. There isn't one in UK (unless you're friends with Mary Poppins).

From that perspective it's the right call.

An expansion is better than an overlay. It's just a shame because this is a fitting (maybe not to everyone and that's OK) overlay and one I actually support :joyfull: especially in their IP mandate.

But as you know it really shouldn't be an either/or situation, that's the real annoyance I have. But with the way things are, if I had to choose it'd be a UK expansion. An overlay can be looked at down the road when they feel the need to refresh Mexico. It may happen, it may never happen.

It seems the Coco overlay was probably more work than they wanted to do right now. And I get it. I may not like it, but I get it, from their perspective.

Is Coco totally dead? I get it seems to be in the short-term.

I tend to think Martin is correct when it comes to why UK is on the back burner. Entirely new construction is a major undertaking and they already have two big construction projects going in Epcot (and one outside the park). If the new Poppins film is a big hit, we may see them return to the idea of adding an attraction based on the film, but that would be down the road quite a bit. I'm still not sure how I feel about such a long-delayed sequel to a bonafide classic, especially when the little bits we've seen so far have such a different aesthetic to them from the original film. The cast is solid. I certainly want it to be great, but I'm cautious.

Glad to hear it. Seems to be a better use of space and money. Mexico has too many factors in its’ way.
Also thanks for the updated spine info. I’m relieved to hear that too!

I would also speculate, that they are wanting to give that side of World Showcase expansions (ala rat/poppins) with the new expected foot traffic in that area of the park from the gondolas. That side kind of needed something new anyway by now, gondolas or not but the gondolas being the motivation here, to my thinking anyway.
