Pixar Place Expansion

I personally want RSR to stay over in DCA. That park needs as many unique attractions as possible imo, and I think it's kinda insane that they're constantly cloning evey single new attraction that opens at DCA across the Mississippi in the same nation! I'm planing on going to Disneyland very soon, but if WDW & DL continue to share E-Tickets, I just assume head to WDW and experience more parks. Cloning overseas? Fine. Cloning major E-Tickets in the same country? I don't think it's the best strategy to just drop carbon copies of attractions in every single Disney Park there is. If you must clone, you should work to make the experience unique to that Park while still maintaining what made the ride a classic in the first place.
Well there's my rant for the day...

As for what I wanna see in a Pixar Place expansion, I say build the M:I coaster, then expand futher with either The Incredibles, or Up, and top it all of with the Rattitoulle dark ride planned for WDS in Paris, along with Guestux's, which overlooks the load area of the attraction just like the Blue Bayou in DL's PotC.

They have only cloned two rides from DCA, soarin and midway mania. Really DCA is filled with cloned rides from WDW; turtle talk from epcot, muppet vision from dhs and tot from dhs.

Oh I hope we don't get another idol attraction. I don't see aerosmith giving up a nice royalty check, disney would be the party to cancel the contract.

I'm not saying we will, I'm just saying its an option for them. Its a known brand that would have a larger reach than say - gasp - Hannah Montana. ICK.

I hate the whole high school musical / pop music crap going on at DHS. It feels so cheap to me.

It is rather lowest common denominator, isn't it. But there is a market for it in young Disney fans. Especially with Rich Ross at the helm, I don't see it going anywhere anytime soon.

We won`t. Idol is dying already.

Does it matter who the band is? The theme is a rock band. For all kids know Aerosmith could be ficticiuos.

Shows are important though. Shows and restaurants help manage the large number of people there. While I personally avoid most shows like the plague, I'm appreciative that they suck lots of people off of the paths and from ride queues.

I didn't mean that shows are bad...what I meant by my comment was that they need to STOP adding shows to the park, and START adding more rides. They have more than enough shows in my opinion. Any expansion should be ride related. That's all I meant.

I think that would be a great idea. There's not enough of The Incredibles in the parks

Agreed, it just matters what kind of ride system they use for it. I think that a kuka ride system can be used for it. As for the story, guests can battle the underminer. The queue room would show the slip in the last scene, the doors would open up and guests board the ride. Also the over the arm restraints would be painted so that when you have your ride picture, it appears you are wearing an incredibles costume.

I wonder how much longer disney has to pay Simon Cowell. I guess it really doesn't matter what band it is per sa, though I think that the band to replace them would be u2.

The problem for Disney is to pick a band that really won't create controversy. Green Day would make the gay day protests look like a Marlins Pep Rally. Linkin Park would alienate older guests. Black Eyed Peas is not rock.

Yeah I guess I coulda made that point a little better. Either way it seems DCA is nothing but "Cloned Attraction-Land", and it's kinda sad. I understand cloning some C & D ticket attractions, but when the parks signature attraction (and possibly only one worth riding, Soarin') is cloned in the same country I just think that's a problem. Finally they build a new D ticket for the park, TSM, only guess what, they clone it. Then they announce Ariel's Adventure, and guess what, it's cloned. It looks like the only 2 attractions in the park that won't clones are the Grizzly River Run and Radiator Springs. I just don't understand how a park can form its own identity when every attraction is cloned accross the Mississpi. So, I suppose that's just a really long way of saying, leave RSR in DCA and give DHS a unique attraction.

Studios has the largest venues for shows because it fits for the theme of park. I don't think that disney will add to the number of venues, but they need to work on the shows they current show.

I think the problem with disney is that they clone rides instead of just using the ride system with a different theme. I look at Soarin the same way as Pooh's Hunny Hunt, it is an unique ride system that can be used in other applications with different themes. When Soarin was installed in EPCOT, they should have used a different video.

DCA needs its own identity, but when its new entrance is a copy of DHS's, it won't be getting it.

I think a Monsters Inc. coaster would be neat. They could even build a new theater for Finding Nemo: The Musical so that it doesn't have to bee in Animal Kingdom.

Either that or Crush's Coaster could fit in as well. A pixar resteraunt could be made. Maybe even a BOLT 3D show :)

Personally, I think the Monsters Inc Coaster is gonna happen. That's a great idea that would be another major draw to Studios apart from the Sunset Blvd attractions, TSMM and Star Tours. Bug's Life playground would be an easy fix for the HISTK one. Pizza Planet replacing Studio Catering Company makes sense, but if you are going to move it, they should enclose the area and do it right. The current Pizza Planet sucks compared to the one in the movie, which shouldn't be that hard to do in real life. As for the Backlotless Tour plot, I can see a few possible options:

Yes, a version of Radiator Springs Racers is a possibility. I could see them taking a different direction than the DCA one and going with more of a European theme like in Cars 2. The ride would be smaller than the original and still use the Test Track ride system, but still fun.

Since Backlot Tour's queue is a fairly large building, that could become home to one new attraction and the Catastrophe Canyon plot could become a second. If that was the case, I would nominate Up and The Incredibles for new attractions. Up would be a dark ride using an updated Peter Pan ride system where you fly in couches attached to balloons through the wonders of South America with Carl and Russell. The Incredibles would be an EMV attraction where riders are sent into the city to help The Incredibles vanquish evil using guest activated surprises throughout the ride. There would be a bunch of them, so you'd have to ride multiple times in order to see them all. In the end, your team is graded based on how many you set off.

Interesting ideas no?

I agree with a Muppets themed restaurant... that would be something!

Personally, I'd like to see another thrill ride. I'd also like to see a revamp of rockin' rollercoaster, I say this not with any critisism of the ride itself but more the theme. Aerosmith? Yeah... out of the mainstream many years ago. If you asked kids in the que... who is aerosmith, you'll hear crickets.

That is when you say, "You know the new judge on American Idol?" The Aerosmith music works great with this roller coaster.

would rather see a conversation and re-theming of the ride then continue to have Aerosmith... theyre not relevant any more, period.
