Pixar Place Expansion

So I have been thinking, If they expand Pixar Place would you rather have radiator springs racers or the monsters inc. coaster? Not sure if the racers are to similar to test track, but I see a lot of potential here, especially if carsland is a huge success. And yes there is plenty of room if they get rid of that antique backlot tour, which is just pathetic. The only cool thing on the tour is the plane that Walt use to fly around in. So let me here some thoughts. The Pixar Place expansion seems inevitable. Just seems like a matter of time.

It's pretty doubtful we would get Radiator Springs (and not for the easy to predict "OMG it's a clone of Test Track" reasons you are sure to see people try to put forth in this thread), it seems if anything goes it will be Monsters Inc as has long been rumored.

Actually, I believe the reason we won't get "Radiator Springs" is because the Cars stuff in Hollywood Studios is going to be based off of the second film, not the first. Therefore, it will be European themed, not American West.

How about something REAL And Creative than just throwing everything to Pixar.

Don't you think that having Pixar in a localized spot in the studios is appropriate? Besides there and two attractions in Tomorrowland, how has Pixar taken over? I think Disney has shown restraint considering the enormous popularity of the films.

As much as I would love to see Radiator Springs at the Studios I think they should pass on it in Orlando. I would just love to have many different attractions from Pixar as opposed to 1 major expansion of Cars. I really want to see an Incredibles ride.

Quite a while back on this board it was rumored for DHS Pixar area:
Incredibles ride based on them going on vacation,
Monsters Inc roller coaster
A bugs life play area(where HISTKids is now)
PIzza Planet would be moved to studio catering company by backlot,
and then PPlanet would become the Swedish Chef eatery

Sounds like a good plan to me!:)

I believe this has been discussed elsewhere. I seem to remember seeing that there isnt enough room for a Radiator Springs "clone" unless LMA is torn out.

I personally think Pixar has earned a land for itself. I think a thrill ride of sorts is appropriate for DHS as well, as it already has 2 of the most thrilling rides disney offers.

i dont agree with getting rid of the backlot, it does need attention but its just too much of a staple in the park to just get rid of it.

Defanitely agree! This would really make sense and would create quite an awesome cohesive area of the park. Some of it is fairly easy too, like converting HISTK play area and the Catering Company. Plus I'd love a Muppets themed restaurant...and think it would be very popular!

The end sequence of Monsters Inc. when their flying around all the doors would make the perfect theme for a roller coaster. If that does not come to fruition than that is a crime by Disney.

But, seriously how does that not sound like the most awesome roller coaster?

It does. The problem lies in the fact that Disney doesn't seem to have enough corporate moxie to create something of that magnitude.

Both were planned.

Note my emphasis. I have a quick question. Are these still possible?
Also, I gather from many of your posts that you are a bit disappointed regarding the direction that Disney has taken over the years. I hope that you don't mind my asking, but what is your opinion on the topic of bigger thrill rides in comparison to the "mellower" Disney rides planned for things such as the Fantasyland expansion? Do you think that Disney should expand its horizons, so to speak, and create more of a thrill ride environment? I'm very mixed, and believe that there is room for both.

I would LOVE to see a ride like the end sequence from "Monster's Inc". I always said to my husband that it would make an awesome ride, and I stand by that. :D

If they're going to expand Pixar Place, though, my first pic would be some sort of "Up" attraction or even something for "The Incredibles". :D
