Pixar Fest - Reviews and Thoughts, plus Soft Opening News

I'm speaking for myself here...but I just with everything we've seen so far, I hope this whole cash grab tanks and this is the first and last Pixar Fest we have to endure.

It gives off every vibe of being a group project where the people goofed off for the bulk of the semester and then scrambled during their last week before presentation time.

The problem is that, like with pretty much every other promotion, there is a large set of the fanbase (especially APs) that will buy into everything the resort throws their way so there will be more and more events like this if I was a betting man. Disney knows this and while there may be some misses here and there, people tend to overlook them and eat it up. We are the vocal minority, the majority is those that don't post places like this regularly, don't have blogs and really don't care like many of us do.

I agree. Though as an AP myself, I'm glad I don't fall into that "easily amused" category. I enjoy being a highly discerning passholder.

The thing that sucks is that Disney will just count the numbers of people who come to the parks during this time rather than offer a way to gauge who is coming because of this event. I can attend the parks and not touch an ounce of "Pixar Fest" but my sheer presence in the gate will still be a statistic in its favor.

It's interesting that they could afford new tables, but couldn't be bothered to make a sign big enough to cover the old one

This is deliberate though. I mean it's designed to look slapdash on purpose. Not defending it, just making a point that a team of people probably spent a considerable amount of time conceptualizing and executing this mess of a sign.

They'll also measure the purchases of the unique food and merch offerings which again, APs will eat up.

Please don't take this the wrong way, and assuming you don't have concrete plans to visit soon, why not just stay away until they take all down if you feel strongly about it? If more fans would do this maybe Disney might get the message.

Because there's still enough at Disneyland I do enjoy. I know, it's the great Catch-22 of this place.

Thankfully, this is all only temporary :)
