That's surprising considering Cars is Lasseter's baby.

True... not saying he wasn't fully invested in the project, but I wouldn't discount the role WDI played in its development either. Don't forget, Car Land was already on the table before Cars Land was, so there was a fair amount of work done before they pivoted to the Cars tie-in.

Just when you thought reality couldn't possibly be as bad as the concept art...

It's interesting that they could afford new tables, but couldn't be bothered to make a sign big enough to cover the old one

Nah... definitely not as bad as the concept art. It's somehow worse. :( The outdoor area is fun enough, I hope it doesn't stay like that forever though because it's one of my favorite nooks in the entire park!

Which is maybe why it was so well done. Same can't be said for PP and Pixar Fest.

Wow! It's worst than the concept art. What? They couldn't afford a second LGM like the concept art had? It looks even worst stretched over old sign.

Soo I've been planning a DLR trip for MONTHS and it kept getting pushed back. I wanted to return to see remember again before pixar fest began, and now the big push is to get in there in the next 2 weeks before pirates is closed. However, pixar fest looks so cringeworthy on top of Guardians cringe and PP being closed that I'm thinking of staying home until incredicoaster opens or Pixar fest is finished altogether! And I am not a fan of halloween overlays of space mountain and haunted mansion, or the holiday stuff, so I guess I might be waiting a whole year before I make the 35 mile journey from los angeles to Disneyland. Bye!

Also happy to see that there is a general consensus that this show is disappointing, based on YouTube comments. This is far more unanimous than I have ever seen from new disney offerings or attraction overlays. Typically people defend the stuff until their last breath. I don't even think the show is THAT awful, but it is refreshing to see that the public does have some standards and quality expectations after all. Speaking up holds disney accountable, whereas acceptance of every overlay/reskin/entertainment offering they throw at us makes them far more likely to repeat themselves.

There was no story, heartfelt messages, heck, even rhyme or reason to the audio excerpts they threw in the show. Like, it was actually awful. Hi, I'm so and so! I'm sadness. I'm this. I'm that. Let's all just go around a circle and say our names! Bing Bong! Don't forget to buy more merchandise of these characters! WHAT??????? Clearly somebody uncreative mandated that they push certain characters but probably imagined that they'd be handled in some meaningful way, where the character is represented in a way that demonstrates the personality they have that resonates with people. Instead they stuck bare bones to the feature mandate and just have everybody SAYING THEIR NAMES.

I'm speaking for myself here...but just with everything we've seen so far, I hope this whole cash grab tanks and this is the first and last Pixar Fest we have to endure.

It gives off every vibe of being a group project where the people goofed off for the bulk of the semester and then scrambled during their last week before presentation time.
