It’s probably an old video. Our talking skull isn’t the original X atencios voice anymore is it?
I don’t think so. Still sounds great though.

So just watched a ride through of WDWs POTC and no wonder why so many say DLs is better. No bayou, no talking skull, shortened caverns, one drop and no armory scene? I think I knew most of these facts but had never watched a ride though.
I do like the placement of their one drop though.
I agree. To me Paris has the best version.

Personally, the only one I'd jump at the chance to see in person is Shanghai's.I'm torn on which is my favorite. They all have their pros but they all have their cons. For example, Tokyo has the original Paul Frees auction and great AAs but it also has all of the movie changes and no uphill waterfall at the end. Disneyland's is the classic and has new old Paul Frees audio in the grottos but still has movie elements elsewhere and it has the new auction scene. Paris has some great additional scenes such as the swinging pirate, the sword fight, as well as the original black beard on the Wicked Wench but it's in French so no Paul Frees and they have the better new auction scene, but it's also missing the armory scene and the entire structure of the attraction is really different and I don't care for it one bit, especially the grottos at the end instead of beginning made only worse with the inclusion of Barbosa.
Really, they all have their qualities but there's some serious damages to all of them which is sad.
Shanghai's Pirates of the Caribbean is to Pirates of the Caribbean as Mystic Manor is to the Haunted Mansion. They have similarities, but they're not part of the same discussion.Personally, the only one I'd jump at the chance to see in person is Shanghai's.
Yeah, I realized that after posting. It's basically a different ride. In that case...probably Paris' version.Shanghai's Pirates of the Caribbean is to Pirates of the Caribbean as Mystic Manor is to the Haunted Mansion. They have similarities, but they're not part of the same discussion.
I love the technology on the boats in Shanghai, and I believe it's being reused in Tokyo's new Peter Pan attraction, but the ride itself leaves more to be desired imo. Same goes for what I've seen of Flight of Passage.Yeah, I realized that after posting. It's basically a different ride. In that case...probably Paris' version.

Which is kind of why I want to see it in person. I know videos only convey so much.I love the technology on the boats in Shanghai, and I believe it's being reused in Tokyo's new Peter Pan attraction, but the ride itself leaves more to be desired imo. I agree. It's not the same ride or even attraction. Mystic Manor and Shanghai Pirates are unique unto themselves. For sure! I was going to call it the best version, but I'm scared of the traditionalists.
Tokyo has the best mansion. It has the WDW mansion but with better animatronic. Phantom Manor is really neat but has some real tonal problems. The singing busts, for example, don't belong in Paris but they're there anyways.I agree. It's not the same ride or even attraction. Mystic Manor and Shanghai Pirates are unique unto themselves.
However, Phantom Manor might be the best Haunted Mansion.

It’s still X! Unchanged since opening. Definitely one of the highlights of the ride (and the whole park, IMO).I don’t think so. Still sounds great though.

WDW never had the X Atencio Jolly Roger. Their talking skull was kind of an afterthought, and the original voice wasn’t much better than the new voice. Some have wondered if it was an 11th hour addition mandated by a lawyer to warn guests that the drop was coming. Summoning @Djali999 !
