Ah! The near-forgotten pirate pastime of auctioning chickens, finally being retold multiple times per day in a classic Disney attraction. Brings a tear to me eye.

I would've still hated it, but if they had put Gonzo from the Muppets on the other side piping in with "I'll take them all!" it would've at least been funny. An abomination still...but funny.
You just made me think...in the middle of raiding a town, these pirates are stopping to auction off chickens. That just makes less sense now then having mermaids in the beginning. Correct me if I'm wrong but weren't mermaids one of those superstitions from those times? Or maybe I'm getting them mixed up with Sirens. They're just about the same thing.

I don't think Mermaids live in spooky haunted skeleton caves.

Agreed, but I feel do they hold more relevance then a chicken auction. Then again, I don't think they'd stop to auction off woman. They would just...do what pirates did.

Also, Clickbait boy shared your tweet.

I think the idea, before and after this refurb, was that the raiders who got to the town first are holding the auction to turn a quick profit before sailing on to the next town by selling off their captured "treasures" to the pirates who were late to the sacking.

The Caverns have a new soundtrack as well...Last time I was on it... the original was " Dead Men Tell No Tales" until the waterfall and then "No fear of evil curses says you" in the tunnel leading up to the piarte ship battle

HauntedPirate,

Sorry you feel that way. I watched the video before seeing people's reactions and was actually impressed with the turnout. Whether or not the old way was disrespectful I always welcome new life being breathed into an attraction. The new script feels playful to me and fits rather nicely. For those that frequent the parks, changes are always a love/hate situation as seen by the varied opinions of the board. I offer a hearty congrats to the creative team for what I feel is a seamless and impressive plot twist.
