It's fine. It's changed now, so might as well get used to it. The irony of screaming about the losing this scene being the end of the world while complaining about 'offended' whoever is lost on a lot of you. Disney was NOT pressured to do this. Contrary to whatever headlines you see on Facebook, there are NOT hordes of people dying to be offended by small nothings. There were not mobs of people mad about the original scene. When you see a headline and that says '_____ happened and people are MAD' it's always like four tweets total.

Disney chose to do this on their own. Be mad at them if you must I guess, but if you're gonna lament how everyone alive today is too sensitive while you do it, come on.

Looks like Disney changed the posters as well.

The change in itself doesn't bother me. However, the logic behind it is still flawed as it ever was. The ride doesn't take place in 2018, and guess what? Back then, people did more dirty things. Like, oh I don't know, firing cannons, plundering gold, auctioning women, etc. Maybe instead of trying to glorify history, we can appreciate how far society has come from the pirate days. I'm might even be more left-leaning than Ms. Magnum, but this change isn't progressive.

I expect the pirates will get Coca Cola Freestyle machines in the next update.

When you're the leader, you don't have to follow.
Here is our video of the new scene

It’s fine. I was prepared to hate the new scene just on principle, but it’s fine. Not as funny and clever as before, but not as bad as I was expecting.

PoC will still be one of my favourite MK rides.

Anybody know if they are still selling this in the gift shop?

Hubby has already vowed to wear his multiple, multiple times in September, by way of protest. (Yeah, like he can get away with wearing the same shirt multiple times. 🙄)

Disney does not spend money to change an attraction scene like this without a good reason to do so. Guest complaints with possible negative PR backlash is one of those reasons.

I'm not going further down this rabbit hole here. The scene was changed, I thought it was a bad idea when announced, and after watching the video Steve posted a few times I think it is terrible. Additional comments can be directed to an appropriate thread in the Political forum.

I feel like they could have gotten away with saying “We wants the redhead!” and have the redhead shoot at them to get the auction back on track. I don’t think that would be offensive.

I don’t mind the change but I really don’t like the new auctioneer’s voice. The animatronic itself doesn’t look like it’s moving around as much as the old programming either.
Great minds think alike, I actually said something very similar on another forum. Have the classic line, have her shoot at them and say "No, you want the rum" and then have them pull out the "we wants the rum" line. I think that would have been a clever twist on the original conceipt.
