i'm a bit confused.
dinning room?
soooo the ballroom isn't THE dinning room?
or is it just a 3rd eating area to add onto the place, with the west wing and ballroom?

also i want to see more of the west wing!

There are 3 dining rooms, with the ballroom being the largest of the three.

I think it looks even more incredible after seeing that video. In fact, it was pretty tough to focus on anything at work after seeing that. :D

As for the negativity, it's like anything else in life...some people prefer to complain about things than see the positive. Kind of like the old Whiners skit on SNL. I'm sure even if it looked exactly the way they thought it should, they'd still find some fault somewhere. That's their choice. Is it 100% spot on to the animated image from the ballroom scenes?- not spot on, but it's definitely close enough to make me very happy and TONS of other people happy as well. I know I'm going to enjoy it and think it's wonderful...so if these people want to whine and think it's awful and complain, let them...not going to change me from being happy and excited...plus, it should free up ADR space for people who really want to go. :)

Nope. Still flat.
Well sure it is...it's just a trompe-l'œil.

At least it sustains it's realism at all angles, unlike the Jesuit Church in Vienna

Exactly! those optical illusions only work from certain angles! I like it much much better the way it is right now. If you would use the "dome effect" in the be our guest restaurant everyone is talking about then it would make no sense since there are tables everywhere. Then the dome effect would only work from certain tables. The only option is to make the ceiling higher but then everyone would say that it is really noisy! You have to understand that it is an animation ballroom we are talking about and that it is impossible to make it exactly the same. Even carsland isn't exactly the same since someone said that.

Except for the fact that this effect is so minimal in the BoG that it's barely noticeable, if at all.

Sorry, it's flat and it looks flat. They didn't succeed in creating this effect at all. The ceiling is beautiful, but it isn't the dome in the ballroom.

If you don't have much ceilling to paint you can't create an effect like the picture above. I don't think they tried to create an effect like the picture above because it would look awfull from many angles. Of course it's not noticeable if they didn't tried to make such an effect!

You're joking, right? Please tell me this is sarcasm.

People don't plan vacations or buy annual passes because of the restaurants at a theme park, they buy them for the attractions. While this is a very nice restaurant, it's still a restaurant.

My kids love the attractions, my wife loves the atmophere, I love the variety and uniqueness of the restaurants. That is why Disney is our favorite family vacation spot, because they have so much to offer. Otherwise we would stick with Hershey Park for much cheaper.

Please don't assume the reasons I vacation to Disney.

I finally got a chance to check out the video and the pictures. I love the effects work that they put into the snow falling outside the windows and the effects in the West Wing.
Anyone else seem to think that they are going to have a problem with a lot of disappointed guests who show up and get put into the room with the paintings and large music box? I know from the photos/video that I've seen, it's my least favorite option right now, and if my wife and I struggled for hours on the phone to get our ADRs and get placed in with a big rotating statue and not one of the other rooms, I might be a little disappointed. I know that we might be able to request a room when we check in and wait until a spot opens up in another, but it's always hard enough to get the kids to sit still long enough to be seated as is.

Looks incredible!!!!!
The snow effect and West Wing look amazing. Love all the detail.

It would have been cool if they had some anamatronics inside of some of the furniture though, like Ms Potts, Chip and Cogsworth. But overall its fantastic! No point in complaining about it not being identical to the movie, because it was never supposed to be. Remember, its a restaurant, so its going to be a restaurant themed/styled after the setting. Not a replica.

Oh.....in regards to the West Wing, is that a dining spot too or just a viewing area? Looks too dark to be a dining area(not that we have really seen the seating area as of yet that I know of)

I don't presume to know why EVERY single person is at WDW. If the restaurants are the reason you're there, then more power to you. Personally, (while Disney has certainly upgraded their food choices recently) I like the food better at almost every restaurant outside the gates, but hey, I'm glad you like theme park food.

While the restaurants can add to the enjoyment, you are in the minority if the restaurants are what draw you to WDW.
