PHOTOS - We go inside Be Our Guest Restaurant

At first, I was underwhelmed by the ballroom itself. Everything else is flat-out amazing. But the more I look at it, the more I'm loving it. I do think they should have spaced out the tables more, maybe by utilizing that space under the balcony. Actually, yeah, I think that's the problem. The openness surrounding the seating area makes it seem even more box-y and cramped. Maybe they could have added a fountain or something in the middle. I know it's not part of the film, but since this area isn't going to be used in the traditional "ballroom" sense, why not?

I just skipped 7 pages of posts because I saw from a quick glance that the negativity was already beginning, despite Steve's posts that the pictures did not do the area justice. Ironically, from the pictures, I got a sense that the inside was breathtaking. I am quite excited to see this and it's exactly what I hoped it'd be.

Yeah just watched that as it was posted in the chat. Looking forward to seeing the rest of the restaurant.

I have no idea if this has been mentioned in this thread or not (I'm not reading all 7 pages), so if it has, my apologies...

I think this room will be incredibly loud. Will all hard surfaces everywhere and very little in the way of walls/dividers for sound absorbtion, plus with this table layout?? Hoo boy.

It reminds me of Via Napoli in Epcot... That's a very hard restaurant to have a conversation in.

I'm betting the other two smaller rooms will be much better and quieter... They'll be preferred by far, I bet. You'll either sit with the masses in the cattle pen, or get lucky and have something more akin to a Signature experience.

Looks very attractive though. Looking forward to trying it out... Hopefully in one of the other rooms.

I've been thinking about this very issue. Will be interesting to see how it pans out, but I think you are likely right.

I was thinking the same but I'm hoping that once you fill the room with squishy non-sound-reflecting humans it'll be better. I'm sure if you're in there while it's empty it'll be very echoey though. Is echoey even a word? :D

LOL I'm not sure if the humans are enough. I think of the chaos that is Toy Story Mania queue. Lots of bodies, all hard surfaces - VERY NOISY.

Surely they used some sort of sound dampening into the decor. Sometime a flat wall can actually be sound absorbing material instead of sound reflecting material.

I will not confess to know a ton about acoustics, but wouldn't a large domed room with high ceilings filled with as many families (kids) as they will be putting in here for QS meals turn into a huge noisy nightmare? Maybe I am wrong about that, but it seems like it would have been an issue.
Anyone know enough about acoustics to tell me how far off base I am on that?

Just typed something about this and then realized you did too. You beat me to it. Sorry about that! :p
