Are you the imagineer, architect or engineer that designed the building? No. Have you even stood in the dead center of the ballroom and felt the entire scale of the room in real life? No. Have you eaten at a Disney restaurant in the Magic Kingdom with more detail built into a single location? No. If you don't like it, then move along. There's a chili dog waiting for you at Casey's Corner. Have a Magical Day!
No thanks I'll be at DLR where they can do better and my Magical Day will be a lot better than yours I assure you.

As I said in the original article, photos do not really do it justice. In person it is something special, and I hear that he real beauty of Be Our Guest is in the Rose Gallery.

I am surprised at all the negativity. Actually, I'm not that surprised since some people on this site complain about absolutely EVERYTHING. I think that the pictures look stunning and I can't wait to see it in person. I think Disney did a terrific job with all the details, not only in BoG but in all of the new Fantasyland. You have to give props when they are due, and I think that Disney went above and beyond peoples expectations for this area.

that's a very selective memory...

Almost nothing in the castle in FJ is to full scale... the staircase hallway being the most obscene 'violation'
In that quote I address not everything being at full scale. Being full scale is not mutually exclusive to seeking to maintain the impression of the scale.

And the stuff in fj doesn't really maintain that impression either. In the interior portion of the queue, only the hallway itself maintains that impression. The classroom, the stairs, etc are no where close.

These scenes 'lead' and project a concept - rather than try to reproduce to the inch.

Nowhere have I said it needs to reproduce to the inch. I think it falls short of creating an illusion that goes beyond matching the ornamentation and decorations of the Ballroom. It looks like an incredibly elaborate attempt to recreate the Ballroom in an existing facility.

I think it looks great! Sure the Ballroom does look sort of busy with all of those chairs and tables squeezed together, but I feel like actually being there will be a totally different experience than just viewing pictures and videos online.

we must remember they don't have unlimited height as well.. the buildings need to work within the constraints imposed by the views around the park too.
That is where techniques such as tromp-lœil would come into play. A more squat ceiling being painted to appear like a large vault has been done before.

I think your post is kind of rude because I can assure you WDW is just as magical if not more. Some of you may say DLR is much better is how just as much in 2 parks but I dont need a crammed park to enjoy myself. I never have time to do everything in a day anyway. EVEN animal Kingdom. there is no way to visit everything and all the animal trails...just my two cents though.

You have to give props when they are due

That's now literally impossible for some people on this site. No matter how good it looks or how wonderful a job WDI did on this project, they will complain.

They will continue to belittle those who praise Disney's good work. They will call Disney fans on a Disney fan site "apologists." Anything to make them feel superior to others. It's pathetic and it's sad, but it will continue to happen. Their inflated sense of ego and entitlement will continue to grow with every (probably necessarily) undomed ceiling and Ariel figurehead that is revealed. This, sadly, is the state of the internet today, and not just here. The web is now full of desperate hatefully negative people trying to feel better about themselves. It really is a shame. This site used to be a lot more fun and full of good friends.

Riddle me this, trolls: CRT looks nothing like the interiors of the castle from Cinderella. Justify.

Missed this perfect example. See above.

Why exactly are you on a Walt Disney World fan site, then? I'm sure MiceChat would be more appropriate for you, since it's centered around Disneyland. Oh, wait... then you couldn't tear other people down for having different interests than you. Sad sad sad.

Mmm... and just 'cuz: sweet grammar. See? I can act like a middle schooler, too.

Yes, this pleases me.
