Wow....we bought tickets already, but after looking at the map...I'm surprised about the number of closed attractions....most notably the jungle cruise.....what better time to ride it then on a spooky night!

I guess we will have to enter at 4 (I think that's allowed) to catch the attractions that will be closing at normal park hours...

Mickey's Never-changing Stale Same Halloween Party......

Nah, there have been changes ... they cut the pyro and 2-3 minutes from hallowishes ... they cut the free photo ... they cut the show in the Diamond Horseshoe ... they cut the scary storyteller on the Liberty Belle ... they've cut the candy bags in size ... they've changed the quality of items over the years ... oh yeah, don't they now just have the Headless Horseman walk down MSUSA because some idiot got too close to the horse a year or two ago?

Oh, and let's not forget that this event was like $19.99 a decade ago when all that extra stuff was included too.

Anyone want to defend TDO on this? C'mon, I'm leaving here for a bit and you can get the last word!

There was a hoax of some sort earlier in the day where it was erroneously reported tomorrow's party was sold out.

I vomited up some blood when I read that...

I don't know about defending anybody, but this is a great event for people who are fortunate to be able to go. Personally, I don't know anyone who ever did this and felt they didn't get their money's worth. If it only cost $20, every night would sell out and the place would be so packed it would be . . . not as fun. I haven't been since 2008 and am looking forward to it, and I won't think twice about not getting a free photo. I have an iPhone and a DSL camera and can take my own free photos. There are always awesome cast members and character attendants happy to take photos. But I can get something free that wasn't available a decade ago - I can get a free special edition Sorceror's Card. You don't like that game and I've never experienced it, but my young nephew has and thinks it is awesome. I'm guessing he'd rather have the card than the photo - that's an age thing. And Disney World - isn't it for kids, too?

I think the castle show, the villains mix and mingle, the parade and the Hallowishes are fantastic. You can't see any of them any other time of the year. If some of the fireworks show is cut back due to budget, I can live with that. Yeah, it would be nice if it were there, but I'll be very surprised if the show isn't still something special. It isn't like they did away with the show altogether and are showing Wishes, which is still a great show as well.

Cutting the candy bags in size - come on, do you think we don't get enough candy? Have you seen the size of people these days? There is more candy given away at that party than a person can eat, even with the smaller bags. You can always bring your own plastic pumpkin for trick or treating if that's your thing.

So, needless to say I don't agree this is a stale offering. If it is great and then you don't see it for a year but when you do it is mostly the same, that is not stale - that is a welcome return of a great hard ticket event.

But you guys keep sounding your alarms. Maybe in 2013 you'll be able to claim a victory when the horseman returns to a full gallop or the fireworks show gets an extra segment or a wandering spirit plops down to tell scary stories at the Frontierland arcade. Somehow, I doubt those small additions would really amount to a hill of beans and people would still find something to complain about.

looking forward to hearing what character's are out this year, if there are any new ones etc... we're braving going closer to the end of october for the 1st time, usually go end of sept/early oct but school schedules are what they are and this is what works this year. crossing fingers but it's likely to be a mob when we go.

I do not even see the new pre parade listed on the map lol maybe they decided not to do it?

Also I noticed on the map they are advertising party shirts... Are these special shirts or sold every day? I do not recall them advertising shirts before on the maps...

Calling all the monsters will be performed outside the train station and near Center Street between the Headless Horseman and Boo-To-You.

Wow! You are right. I hope we get a report on what rides are actually closed. I was also looking forward to the Jungle Cruise at night. This is disappointing if true and will cause me to have to enter at 4 as well.

Jungle Cruise hasn't been open at the parties in years. But it's a good thing. An apologist will be with you in a moment to explain

And then you look at what all the other resorts do..and well thats all that needs to be stated.

Not sure what point you're trying to make? Uni runs the best/most popular Halloween attraction in the state with new offerings every years. And BG's event is pretty good too and a bargain for that matter, with prices staying relatively flat in the 13 years they've been operating it. MK has had offerings cut, while raising prices. They've offered nothing new in atleast the last 5 years. The only thing I can argue is that it's a better value than a regular day at MK and it still totes my favorite MK parade.

My point is DLPR, HKR, TDLR and even DLR all keep adding and changing the lineup. Why? To keep them fresh. That is my point.
